- I thought you didn't like your Polish heritage, but it appears you do. Sorry, sis, and no hard feelings.
:)

Perhaps you should get to know someone before makeing judments. I wouldn't be on this forum if I did not like my Polish heritage.

- I judged based on your post. Some folks come to this forum because they hate Poland and Poles. Of course, you are not one of them - I know now.

And both of us come here to defend against these Polophobes, right Puzzler? :)

All my post said was that I was part Irish, Polish and English and that my mom was 1/2 polish....what is in that caused you to think that I didn't like Polish people? Was it because I thought that a Polish/Irish combo was odd? But even that says nothing bad about Poland or Polish people.

That would be my question as well.
Was it because I thought that a Polish/Irish combo was odd?
- Yes; you used the expresson 'odd mix.' I perhaps put it together with certain Polonophobic insults from some 'pseudo-Irish' from America, encoded in my memory.
It's not important now. Let's move on and not dwell on stuff of this sort.
All the best to you, Irisheyz, and to you, Pam.

I'm not dwelling....I promise you that. I just wanted to understand where you got your idea from is all. I mean if I had said something that was inadvertently anti-polish then I would want to know so that I wouldn't say it again. Different places can have a similar expression or gesture and yet have two very different meanings attached. Like in the US if you hold up two fingers in a V with your palm facing the body then it usually means 'Peace'. But over in the UK if you do that same gesture then it means F**k You. So that is why I asked you to clarify what it was about my post that you thought was anti-polish.

Not bad.Polish girls kick asss.
My cousin, she is Polish. When she went to Germany to work she got married with a guy who is Spanish. For two years now they've been living in US and their first child was born there a year ago. Soon they want to go back to Europe and settle down in Munich. I feel a bit sorry for little Natalia (that's the baby's name) she may feel confused in the future :P
What's more, the guy's name is Israel ( altough there is no conection with Israel itself) :)
Total mix for me!!

The Poles have a sever problem. They sit uncomfortably between two strange neighbours. The Germans on the one side and the Ukrainians, the most peculiar race in Europe on the other. I think that it is a genetic problem and most polish nastiness comes from the Ukrainian side. I always remember visiting my mother-in-law in hospital in Częstochowa and in the next bed was a very clever woman who told me all about what a funny race the Poles were. I have never forgotten her words and I 'took it all on board'..

yup, that she is even if i say so myself! She has an unusual look. Am waiting for my second baby to arrive in April!
Everyone is a mix of something......those who claim some purity of heritage/lineage/race or colour are deluded....at best, and deeply prejudiced by their up-bringing or the facist ranting of their government or leaders........
Long live the human mongrel...cos thats what we all are...:)...:)

Bottomline: everyone wants some Polish blood in them, because we are sooo cuuuute! ;)
lol, i agree. in my opinion, Polish men have a certain type of look in their faces, as if they are always pondering some sort of mystery or thinking really hard about something. they just look so intelligent when they squint.

I said in my intro post that I'm half Polish, half Mexican. People always tell me what a unique mix that is. (I've never met anyone else who is also Polish and Mexican.) How about any of you? Is anyone half Polish, if so what else are you?
Parents and grandparents Polish, but some Jewish and probably some Czech from great-grandparents and beyond... which makes me pretty much Polish, but clearly not 100% and probably not even 90%, possibly about 70-80% at a guess. This is well demonstrated by my non-Polish appearance. I was once told by someone in lower Silesia that my surname probably has Czech as well as Polish origins, so who knows. As long as I'm not German or Russian I don't care either way... :)

Whats wrong with being German or Russian besides not being Polish
