I am seeking information on my grandfather, who came from Poland in 1905,at age 18.Would the Church have any records? And can anyone provide an e-mail address of any department Church in Poland?
I think you need to specify the area first. There's no general "church department" in Poland (as I know). If you know the exact place and/or address where your grandfather lived, it might be possible to track it down.
dave, on rootsweb, linked in the genealogy, it has a section for the churches, and how to write to poland, of course, someone here will write it in polish, you can cut copy paste into your reg email and send it off, or mail it.
but you do need the town name for sure, and another thing about that is, there might be more then one church. on my moms side, they asked upper or lower side, so its tricky now. plus, the actual spelling of the last name you are lookin for.
I have Ancestry.com, I can look on a draft, see if they have a better name spelling if you want. P
well, thank you all for helping me. Josef Surowiec came to America, arriving november 11,1905.his date of birth was march 19,1886 OR 1887.his brother, antoni, arrived April,1905.Josef was single,Antoni was married.
I seek anything about either,(would prefer something about Josef.) and thought contacting the Church might work... There are two Goworowo's? Im not sure which one.I have an old letter written from the post office of goworowo, from the city Wulka Brzezinska.
does that tell which one? dave
oh,surowiec is how both of "the boy's" spelled there names.but on his naturalization papers,Josef was 'Surowiez',and Antoni was 'Sirowiecz'.
But on all other papers from their lives, and on their tombstones, Surowiec dave
