In order to really have a shot at that you need at least a place of birth or birth certificate. And the -exact- date

Merged: A Polish woman was adopted and now confused

I just wanted to say that i have been adopted, as a baby, i was told that both my parents came here with there parents from Poland in the 40' i think, not bout that, but I have always wanted to embrace my heritage, by birth, but just really unsure of how to go about it, i plan to take a trip to Poland next year sometime just to see and feel the culture and learn about what my family lived even though i don't know them, i do know tho that i have eight other siblings and that my mother did want to give me or my twin brother up for adoption, so any advice from someone?

Well, were you adopted together? Were you adopted in America, another country, or in Poland?

I would start at the country where you were adopted. Your adopted Parents should be able to help, if they are around. In America, they are loosening up the restrictions in some states. It is much more acceptable now, as most people gave up their children because of varying reasons. Most of all, they gave their children up OUT of their love, and desiring a better life for them, that was impossible for them at that time in their life.

Hope that helps, Dianne!

Do you have any documentations, paperwork, polish passports? Might try to look for clues there.

Hi Dianne. I have a question for you. If you were not able to have your own children, but you were able to provide a loving home for a child from another country, would you do that?
