Wow, I totally forgot I posted this.

I (intentionally) did not mention that my great-grandma's ancestry is completely Polish Jew. I find it funny that nobody noticed that!!

if I look Polish

There's no such thing as "Polish look". That's why such a thread like this one can
only turn into a one big joke. Poland has seen countless wars in its history and
migrations of people. Poles are mixed with Germans, Russians, Swedes, Turks,
Jews, Ukrainians, Tatars, Scots, Czechs, Hungarians, Lithuanians and probably
a dozen of other nations.

There were two lads studying at the university with me and they were best pals
always hanging out together. They were both 100% Polish, but one of them looked
like Brad Pitt and the other like Ghenghis Khan LOL

Being Polish is not about your looks, but about your heart and soul. If you speak
Polish, understand and enjoy Polish culture and consider yourself Polish then YOU
ARE
Polish for me (even if you're black or Asian).

Therefore the "Polish look" is made up of a combination of those! If there is no "Polish look", then why do so many of us find it so easy to spot Poles? Show me a line-up including a Pole, Irish, German, Greek, Spaniard and Turk and I know I will identify them all, guaranteed.

then YOU
ARE Polish for me (even if you're black or Asian).

lmao, NO WAY

lmao, NO WAY

Why not? If a man lives in Poland, speaks perfect Polish, enjoys the way of living
and culture (maybe even contributing to it himself) and considers himself Polish,
then why shouldn't we think of him as Polish?

For the same reasons that a Pole who moves to Pakistan and does all the above, doesn't become a Pakistani.

Unless you're only talking about nationality (in which case, I agree) but that's not the same thing as race, culture or ethnicity!

Culture isn't something that you're stuck with and cannot change. You can adapt
to different cultures and become a part of them. That's why all the great empires
in World's history (also the Polish Commonwealth) were built on culture and common
values, not on a primitive, tribal, racial ethnicity (and those of them that were didn't
last for too long).

Sure, you can't change your ethnicity or race - that's obvious. However, you
can choose to adapt to culture and common values of any nation in the world
and become its member.

So it's possible for a man from Kenya, Ireland or Korea to be Polish.
