info on real Palbicki last name

My cousin did a history trace on my last namePalbicki and found it was changed when the family came over to the US and now I can not get ahold of her. From what I remembe her telling me is that my ancisters were founders of a small farming village in polando if anybody knows anything at all I would greatly apprciate it

Is Palbicki the new form or the original form of the name ?

My mother did some research on my grandad's surname; Bil and thinks it must have been changed, i can't remember why she thought that though. Odd that you mention it.

Its possible that it got changed from Pałbicki to Palbicki.

More likely than not, the original spelling was Pałubicki.
