Well it is a bit of a tricky question, you look American from European decent.
Sure you could be Polish, why do you ask?.

Do you guys see the Polish in me in this picture?

No, not at all. Maybe if you included a photograph of your Polish parent, one could see resemblances to him or her. The picture of you, however, just looks Persian.

I'd say yes, but 70% Persian and 30% Polish. I see it though, for sure.

cool interesting replies.
My mom is polish and I look so much more like her then my dad but it seems its the skin color that makes a big difference. Its funny because at first sight people think im Italian, Portugese, Latin American or middle eastern.

Keep the replies rolling!

Do you speak any Polish with your mum?

Have you been here?

Are you just curious because people ask you where your family are from?

I actually went to Poland for a year four years a go when I was 14. I knew quite a lot but when I came back to Canada I slowly started to forget even if I spoke to my mom in Polish. Its probably because I spoke English most of the time but I blame myself also for not continuing to learn the language. It was fun going back to Canada with a Polish accent that went away.

Would you be interested in learning again?
It is always a good thing to know another language and there are lots of healpful sites, like this one that can advise you on how best to go about it.

There are many people on this forum in a similar position to yourself.
I am in Poland now, I am not from here but i like it very much here even though all my muscles hurt from skiing all day :)

Yea I will for sure get back to learning the language. My one year in Poland was probably the best year of my life I have had. My uncle is actually coming to Canada to visit us and I will be going back with him to Poland for a month or so.

Im guessing you were skiing in Zakopane? Ive been there and it truely is a beautiful place!

Well if you are coming back, you'd better learn the language to be able to speak to the pretty girls, 18 aren't you?.

Im guessing you were skiing in Zakopane?

Near Zakapane, in Białka Tatrzańska, yes it is very beautiful there, I live in-between Zakopane and krakow, two of my favourite places in Poland :)

Yes I do
To me it seems that I have the face structure as my mom but its the skin color and hair color that makes myself different from Polish people. But then again some polish people have dark skin and dark hair too.

I DUNNO IM LOST!

its the skin color that makes a big difference

And the hair, and the eyes, none of which looks typically Polish even in the slightest way.

at first sight people think im Italian

Not anyone who knows what most Italians look like. Sicilian, perhaps, but the proportions and the structure are very different from Italians generally.

Portugese

No, for the same reasons you couldn't pass as an Italian among Italians.

Latin American or middle eastern

These you do look like.

You look like someone from the Mediterranean.

...Specifically the Lavant, Middle East, and North Africa.

Haha when I was in Poland the girls loved my dark hair

Yes, because the heavy black curls are not something that Poles usually have.

that is funny, you have a polish sense of humor to

You do definitely have that.

you look like an arab, you have dark features, dark skin, dark hair and dark eyes. you dont really look european. You look more arab

Not necessarily Arab, but certainly Middle Eastern -- Persian, or perhaps Caucasian, Turkish, Levantine....

i work with poles and you look 0% polish

Pretty much agreed.

you could pass as british though

Don't take that to heart. You could pass as a recent immigrant to Britain, but certainly not as an Englishman, a Scot, or a Welshman.

I am already accepted by both so its all good

That is good, especially if you are glad you are both.

That's funny, because he's not even Arab, he's Persian. I think you may not be looking at him with your eyes.

Eurasian, I am in a similar situation because I am part Polish/Hungarian and also mixed with Arawak Indian and Dutch West Indian via Surinam and St. Marteen (a creole mix of Asian, East Indian, and Dutch). I was adopted, and was not raised by my Eastern European side.

I seem to be the reverse of you, in that my coloring is light but some of my features look mixed. However, the more I learn about Poland and Hungary and the rest of Eastern and Central Europe, the more I realize that large parts of the population have always been mixed with influences from Asian Siberia and Central Asia, although many on this forum will deny it. But, all you have to do is study the history and look around: Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Crimea and Russia still have evidence of this on the faces of the people.

So, when I looked at your picture, I immediately saw Polish influences, and saw a reflection of some of my own features as well. But, you are also half Persian, which is not that far off the mark from a lot of Eastern Europeans who have Asian and Central Asian influence from way back anyway. So, some of the features will be the same, such as a long, high nose and a small mouth. But, it is that combination with your deepset eyes that I recognize.

I agree with another poster that said it would be helpful to post a picture of your mom, so that we can see the direct resembelance. I think a lot of people get stuck on color and hair type (race), without looking at features. A picture of your mom would provide a context.

That's only because you haven't seen me, lol. I posted a picture somewhere on this forum when I first arrived, for the same reasons as Eurasian. I look mostly European though, so I am only as "exotic" as the next Polish/Hungarian girl, with a littl bit of brown, as my Russian friend says, I guess.
