PolishCook 6 Dec 2005 / #1Ingredients1/2 kg carrots,2 parsnips,1 small celery (about. 15 dkg),1/2 kg potatoes,2 pickled cucumbers,1 can of green peas,3 eggs,1 apple,1 bunch of green onions,1/2 cup of mayonnaise,salt, pepper, parsley, dill.Rinse the vegetables and cook without peeling (each separately); cool and peel them. You could use vegetables from a chicken soup. Hard-boil the eggs, cool and peel them. Peel the apple and remove the core. Cut the vegetables, pickles, apple, and eggs into small squares. Chop the green onions and strain the peas. Add salt, pepper, and stir in mayonnaise. Chop the parsley and dill, and sprinkle over the salad. Set aside for one hour. Decorate with mayonnaise, green peas, and carrots.Enjoy this Polish salad! (Very Popular not only in Poland).

Guest 31 May 2006 / #5Beetroot and appleGrate about 6 beetroot, and 3 cooking apples.Grate rind of a lime. salt and pepper, mix all together in a baking pan with knobs of butter, cover with foil and bake in oven gas no 5 for an hour, lovely hot or cold.My Dad (who was Polish) used to make this for us as children as its full of iron. enjoy

While there, I loved the salads...There was a mixture of shredded carrots, cabbage, lettuce, etc.Does anyone have the recipe for this mixture? We made it for Christmas. Every time I speak to them or email I forget to ask for the recipe!It was really delicious, just wondering if this is a traditional recipe or unknown, or if anyone has a recipe for it?
