"marianka" (majeranek)

grandaughter
24 Nov 2009 /  #1
Hi ,
My grandmother always made the best stuffing. She has since passed away. I always asked for her recipe and she always used a spice she called "marianka" but she did not know how to tell me what that was. I would really love to know what she was meaning to tell me. This stuffing used bread, onions, celery, rasisen, currrents, etc. and a spice she called marianka. I am sure someone will know what I mean and let this clueless grandaughter in on her secret.

Thank you so much
Karen

I'm guessing it's marjoram - "majeranek" in Polish, "majoranka" in Czech.
