71 has everything to do with the oppression people have had to deal with over the centuries. however, vodka helps too. ;) :D

the medical standards do too and so on.. there are many variables.. if food was the only factor then americans would never see 75 as the food here is crap. :)

The table in the article only shows 20 countries (even though the title claims 32 countries).. I assume Poland is on the 17th place (but then why they claim US is on the 17 place). Not a very scientific source I guess.

But food is very important for longevity - Polish foods is not that healthy though. Too much greasy foods like kielbasa, kaszanka, too much pork. Good are kapusta (golabki, bigos), pierogies.

most of my relatives have lived into late 80s or 90s and they ate all the stuff mentioned above... BUT, none of them was ever a couch potato.

grease really doesn't effect everyone the same way.. if one is active, one can burn the heck out of fats.. calorie intake/usage dictates body mass more then anything, imho.

thank you. It taste OK but pretty heavy tho.

that's why we "cut" it with vodka.

Hey "de gustibus non es disputandum". Many people I know don't like food in Poland. I personally like some of it.

I guess once we start looking for the statistics online, we're gonna find about 50 different data bases stating different facts. lol

Didn't you find yours online too?

Btw. the CIA stats seem consistent with EU Commission stats for 2007.

matter of taste

consistency has hardly anything to do with taste. white bread really has hardly any taste. :)

I'm saying, I like our bread and whether you like it or not, it is still a matter of taste.
I didn't say you have to like it, did I?
