They're great freshly made <boiled> with butter dripping off them but if you have any left and put them in the fridge for another time :) Then they are great, fried up........mmmmm I love pierogi !

Swarki yummy too !

If it gets any colder here I may well make some pierogi this weekend. Nice warming winter food......:)

Anyone ever try cabbage pierogi?

My Mom and Dad made the filling similar to bigos ? They used that in pierogi. My Dad was a Chef too !

:)

Of course it was very finely chopped etc.......

You forgot the bacon, girl. That's what makes it! :)

Personally, nothing beats cheese pierogi for me dripping with butter, boiled or pan fried. That's it. I like the others too, but I will gladly pass them for cheese. Cheese, cheese, cheese. And, don't forget the cheesecake. The real one, from farmer's cheese, raisins, fried orange peel, and 27 sticks of butter (ok, just kidding). The works! lol.

They are hard to find where I live and I haven't a clue how to make them from scratch; so far the plain potato and cheese ones. Haven't really tried any other ones. You folks are making me hungry.

I can only do the fruit ones, like cherries, blueberries, raspberries, mulberries, with a bunch of sugar loaded on the top. The ones with meat and cheese and butter and all that stuff gross me out. I almost barf just looking at them. Everybody says I'm nuts, but oh well.

LOL! After my last post, it got me to thinking, just how many calories in 1 pierog. My God.. I can easily eat six of them. Counting the sour cream that would go over two thousand calories.

I got this out of google
