Is there really anti-Polonism ? Nobody denies that there are prejudices against Poles that in some countries, are widespread negative stereotypes about us . In the end, everyone has heard about the " polish jokes " in the United States or unpleasant incidents in the UK or Germany.

But talking about antypolonizmie many of us it seems like overkill . Fact suggests that we are not dealing with the deplorable accidental occurrences , but with a constant attitude or even ideology. Funny that you mention it. First thing that crossed my mind when I read the announcement on the Polish embassy's web site was 'Is this going to be the Polish version of the World Jewish Congress?' Kind of irritating, IMHO.

This is a strange question...the assumption that I am either one is odd. Or is it some claim that since I am neither I cant truly know your suffering? Blah blah.

I was actually talking about the fact that the state of Israel and Jewish organizations were very successful after WW2 to build a powerful lobbyist network that took (takes) care of their political agenda. The posting on the web site looks to me as if Poland and Polish organizations are trying to copy the Israeli/Jewish approach. Poland must at least support the ideas of the Polish Community Council of Australia and New Zealand. Otherwise the article wouldn't have been published on an official web site like the one of the Polish embassy in Australia.


But don't say anything negative about Poland as long as you are in Downunder. They might come and get you... ;-)
