Bringing Polish produce back to Australia

Hi all!

I am travelling to Poland in a few days and would be interested in bringing back some food.. nothing that could spoil obviously, perhaps some chocolates and some of those powdered sauces/soups...

I have done this before by hiding the food stuffs in my suit case and have had no trouble, however i have heard of people getting searched at Melbourne air port and having these things confiscated

Any advice?

Obviously, would declare any such items en route back into Australia

Also does any one have any suggestions on good things to bring back? Traditionally, i used to buy a lot of amber, however have not been back for 5 years, so don't even know if its still cheaper over there?

Any advice welcome!

chocolate and sauces should be okay...fruits, nuts, etc no.

the government should have a list of things on the customs website.

yeah, the australian customs have a good website with lists of items that are forbidden or allowed for different countries.
