Not after studies. Or full time.

Even 2000PLN, LOL. What a friggin disgrace! That wouldn't even cover my 4 main expenses. Namely, ZUS (840PLN), apartment (950PLN), accountant (183PLN) and tax (450PLN). 2400PLN more or less. Average 1200PLN, what a joke! With shopping, my expenses could easily come to around 3k a month so what use is 1200?

Get two more jobs like the first one, and you are set.

But Poles are experts on living cheaply with a decent standard of living. Practice makes perfect.

Yup, it's probably not that bad for most of people, my friend is a paramedic but he also works as swimming pool lifeguard.. people do different things to make ends meet. From what I heard many of them feel destined for such job, the other part can't do any better.

Many are gonna struggle with living cheaply and run into huge credit issues before too long. 1200PLN is just a slap in the face! You'd spend more time saving yourself than saving others.

Sometimes you can still find a doctor in some Polish ambulances.

Yeah, especially gp's and medicine post grads - if that's what you can call a doctor...

Just did a first aid course with the red cross and I asked them about ambulances in Poland (having a previously very dim view of them as nothing more then people carriers) and I was pleasantly surprised to hear that ambulances (in Warsaw at least, don't know about the rest of Poland) are apparently state of the art and expected to get anywhere in Warsaw within 5/6 minutes.

Still I find it a bit strange that each ambulance can only carry one person (so they said). I'm sure in the UK (and USA as well?) you can take 2 per ambulance?

Today it is twice more - 2250 take home. Still too low for most. That is why experienced paramedics are leaving their positions and new ones don`t want to take them.

No, he won`t. I met him a year ago when I fell from the roof and damaged my almost everything. We talked a lot during the ambulance drive to hospital. He said he loved the job and would never change it. Pure vocation.
