Panic at the doctor - I need a sick note (L4) from my work in Poland

Hi everyone

I am stuck in a bit of a pickle.

At the end of October, I fell very ill. I had an African doctor come to my house to see me and I took sick leave from work assuming that she would be able to provide me with a legitimate sicknote for work. However she later told me that she can give me a prescription but she cannot officially give me a sick note for work because She practices officially in Rwanda. Now this has been about a month ago or so. Unfortunately all the Polish doctors tell me that I cannot take sick leave for more than three days back. And this has been a month!.

Is there a Doctor Who can provide me with a sick leave for work for end of October? L4 to be more specific!

This is true. Why on earth have you been waiting for a month without having a sick leave.

Only a psychiatrist can do that in Poland. They can do that with the delay of six months even!

Do you have any recommendations? For a psychiatrist?

Why on earth has he been getting some unregistered African doctor to treat him is also my question...

Without meaning to sound cruel I think it might be better just to give up those few days pay them to go to your work with a note from the psychiatrist (Because you don't actually have a psychiatric condition!)

I thought the doctor was a woman. Where did your friend find 'him'?

Ziemowit's reference to a psychiatrist means that if you had a mental illness, you could get your sickpay backdated, not that a psychiatrist will give you a sick note :))

Doc was a female. Well I'll speak to my manager and I'm sure she will understand

I wouldn't be so sure. If you don't have a sick note, usually the only way to get paid is to take the days off your holiday entitlement.
