No English Speaking Jobs in Poland...At All?

I'm Irish and I have lived in Warsaw before as a student. I will be returning to Poland soon and need to find work. I realize the pay for most jobs isn't great, but has anyone got an idea of where to start in terms of finding an English speaking job in Warsaw. I will teach, but really I'm looking for something more well paid. I have a degree in English and New Media. Thanks.

Hi, I work as a research scientist in a PAN Institute, Warsaw (now started a 3yr post in the UK, but co-direct lab stuff in Poland). One thing I find is that people really need their language to be checked by a native speaker. Some of it is pretty niche stuff, so almost like a foreign language in itself (v.v. technical), but other times people need basic stuff checked over. It does take quite a bit of time and there is a real need for native speakers to provide this sort of service at competitive prices or even quite high prices for those with suitable academic/experienced background.

This is one reason why I got involved in setting up a website where this sort of service can be provided online.

If you want to check it out let me know what you think. Its free (for now) to create your own profile etc. There are not many jobs at the moment but over the remainder of the year hope job posters will use and find this service useful. Now is an ideal time for new native speakers to get on board.

What kind of well paid jobs do you think exist in Warsaw for those without experience and with a 'soft' degree and only one language that isn't even the native language of the country?

Heed the advice given on here. You have to be realistic and understand you aren't going to walk into a well-paid job in Warsaw with little or no specialised skills/qualifications.

Unless you can speak Polish and/or another language in addition to English, the most obvious option would be to teach English and even then, you need a CELTA plus at least a year's experience. Get a CELTA and work in one of the smaller towns to gain some experience.- you could always travel to Warsaw at the weekend.
