Lukasz, give up now. There's no sense in believing in this administration. Maybe the next one will be better.

And why do you think Regan was so great? Kennedy, King - fantastic Americans, but Regan? What did he do that was so 'great'?

Should we change the topic title to "US politics and how it sucks"?

he put it to the commies camrad. the wall falling down is definitely due to his policies.

I thought the wall falling had more to due with the fact that Poland decided to give up communism and other countries followed one by one. Don't get me wrong, I was very young when it happened and never cared to learn much about how communism ended.

All I remember of it are the pictures on TV of people dancing around, hugging each other and my mother crying and explaining to me that 'This wall kept families apart and now they can be together again. It's a wonderful thing."

in a way you are tright but it would have never happened if not for the pressure put on the rusians by the americans. bascially USA bankrupted CCCP and they weren't able to butt in anymore.

Yes, we contribute racists who say things like "The only thing a Negro can do for me is shine my shoes" - Elvis Presley

Elvis never said that.

Here you go:

Educate yourself. You might actually enjoy it. ;)

Lightbulb, I hate to break this to you but Elvis WAS a racist jerk. My father (who is now 68) was a blues musician from Mississippi and had more than a few run-ins with him.

If you like, I can ask him to tell me ALL those stories again, write them ALL down and email them to you.

Elvis

I always thought that the young Elvis was quite a simple man with a talent.
He could sing in the style of the black singers he heard when he was growing up.
I didn't think he was taking the p!ss - he loved music.
Imitation as a form of flattery, or not?

He bought songs from "neg***" and said they were his own - ne never gave them credit. This is why he seemed to imitate. He'd buy black peoples songs for $10.00 and make millions on them.

Now this doesn't mean that he wasn't a nice, quiet young man that could sing... he probably was; but no matter what, he was a product of The South. A white man from Mississippi in those days was almost always a racist.

You can Google KKK and see what the membership numbers were in 1950. You'll see, MANY people from all over America (but the majority were Southerners) belong to the organization that terrorized, beat and lynched blacks.

Look up the story of a young man named Emmet Till if you want to know what people did to blacks in those days. His (horrific) murder was one of three sparks of the American Civil Rights Movement.

* A few years after Emmet's murder, my father worked for one of the murders. We worked on the mans farm until he found out that he was one of THEM. The guy changed his name and moved after the trial (I forget which one of them he worked for, sorry).

Anyone can claim anything they want on the internet, and that's fine. But I'll stick to verified sources, which tend to disagree. Thanks just the same, though.

I'm not a fan of Elvis's music, for the record, so I'm not interested in defending him in any case, and I could care less what anyone thinks of him. I simply don't like to see misinformation circulating - especially misinformation that can be disproved with no effort whatsoever (say, 3 seconds of your time and a google search). If you're willing to believe the worst about someone, you should be willing to perform due diligence - I try to live by that.

Lukasz, why don't you post a video of the Islamo-fascists cutting Americans throat. I love my country because it is a very Christian one compared to most of Western Europe.

I like Bush except for the debacle with immigration. The majority of Americans are tired of illegals taking everything.

He kicks butt when it comes to terrorists. I support my military and the brave Polish military who fought in Iraq. I think France is leaning our way. Don't listen to the liberal media, most Americans want to fight the war on terror.

sorry dude.. shrub got you snowballed and you are in the minority.. war on terror is a losing proposition. it will never be won.

why are we in IRQ?

I hope you aren't talking about Bush. We begin a hunt for OBL and can't find him so we attack Iraq?

why are we in IRQ?

To display GWB's terrorist butt kicking :)

re: grate americans

- All of them?!

As far as I'm concerned, only the last one has a grating effect on me.

Actually puzzler if it wasnt for Ronald Reagan and Pope John PaulII Poland would still be under Soviet Control and the Berlin Wall would still be up.

if it wasnt for Ronald Reagan

...there would be no Amnesty... I would not get a legal status, and I would have to marry some American dude in the 80's to get a green card, instead of marrying for love (which did not do me any good either). LOL.

President Reagan is my hero anyway!

He was one of the best presidents. Clinton was one of the worst liberal democrat idiots who screwed this country up and left it up to Bush in his next election to get it back on it's feet, after Clinton allowed the terrorists to enter the US by opening up the borders to foreigners.

Krysia, wow, that airs it all out. I will have to say I agree, We had Binladen several times, but the way Liberals think that the world is all uner the same rules, they felt they did not have a legal precedent to arrest him, What BS##, he bombed the Kole, his group was responsible for many US deaths before 9/11, unlike what a liberal may think, people who are not US citizens do not have the same rights afforded to by our constitution. I am so sick of this "can't we get along crap" They MURDERED our PEOPLE, WAKE UP AMERICA, they hate us and want you DEAD!!

Yes, it time for a fresh face and i hope we get one. There are a couple of candidates I would not mind to see in the White House, but it's too early to say. I think the next year will be interesting. I'm setting aside some old towels, I'll need them to wipe off the mud dripping off my TV screen.
