Hi all,

I'm trying to buy about 5 litres of 95% spyritus vodka, to use as a mixer. Where having a large party, it's not for personal use :)

Is there anywhere in the U.K I can source this,at a good price ?

Thanks for any help

Very, very bad idea..... trust me bad idea. You won't have a party, every one will have two or three drinks and then ZONK!!! everyone passes out, I'm not kidding I have experimented with Spiritus and it completely and utterly ***** me up and then i pass out period.

Stick to vodka.

If you want something strong may i suggest this Finnish vodka called Koskenkorva it is 60% abv.
This will also completely mess you up, but Spiritus you are seriously risking alcohol poisoning.

I agree with Maybe. Don't mess with Spyrytus unless you can really hold your alcohol. Heck old Polish alcoholics (żule) don't even drink it. It's not vodka by the way.

Agreed. People buy that stuff to make fruit nalewka with - that and sterilise surgical instruments. It isn't for drinking. The only people who drink it are one step away from drinking meths.

I'm with the other guys. The first time I tried Spirytus was also my last. I was told that it should be drank ideally with distilled water. I sacked it off and tried to have a shot of it mixed with cola. 2 glasses later I was on my ass.

Just get some Zubrowka, can't go wrong with it :)

True - the distilled water thing.

Spirytus is excellent for cakes, when trekking long distance, and also, Eric Clapton style, for dipping calluses in a saucer of the stuff when fingers are sore from too much E string :)

A very versatile concoction and according to Mrs Beeton should be in every well equipped kitchen.
