I've always wondered why M&S in Warsaw bothers stocking white sugar.

This is what I've never got. I used to go to the Polish Shop in Glasgow and I would buy mostly pre-prepared Polish food or Deli meats. But you would see people in there doing their full weekly shop in a little tiny Polish shop when there's a tesco across the road. I thought it was mental, but if you were new to the country and unsure of the language then that could be a reason to stick with there at the beginning.

I often go to Kuchnia Swiata to buy Irn Bru when it's in and sometimes Marshall's Cheesey Pasta. Both of these things are ridiculously unhealthy and full of chemicals, not to mention expensive, but it tastes like home so it's nice for a treat every now and again. I would never contemplate (or be able to afford) doing all of my shopping in such a place though.

I must agree. When I am in Poland I go to local bakery and buy reasonably priced delicious cakes, bread... the same with local butchers but lots polish stuff in UK is just awful and unedible.

There is this bakery 'Eunice' in UK- I bought once poppyseed cake before Christmas it was awful. I bought yesterday ( forgot to check label) cheesecake made by them it is not sweet at all and it says 'cheese ( twarog)' as ingredients but I can't taste it I am not sure what crap they put as a fillng- I think it will end up in the bin.

Another one krokiety- produce by company ( don't rememebr name starts with V...) they tasted like cardboard.

Speaking about differences in products taste. :
same:
- orange juices are the same (British even better)
- canned fish are the same

completely different:
- sausages and hams
-bread

And there are some products you can't buy even in big supermarket's.

For me there is a big difference between British and Polish hams and sausages. If you were polish you find British one very low quality. In polish ones you have a lot more of meet. They should get a noble prize for it.

And please, there is impossible to make sausages so good as polish. Even Germans, Russian, and Czech failed.
