Shipping computer equipment to Warsaw (From the UK)

Hi there!

I'm from Liverpool (England) and I'll be moving to Warsaw sometime between the 25th and the 30th of September 2008.

Obviously I'll be taking lots of my things and as I'm a 3D graphic designer I need to take alot of valuable computing equipment. I was wondering if anybody could suggest a reliable shipping company with which I could ship all of my things.

They seem to be everywhere and I have never had a problem with them.

Proably best transporting the most valuable stuff as hand luggage if you can.

i was just wondering would there be any hidden charges like extra vat or import tax because its coming from UK to Poland?

please help,if there is a tax or something would like to know in advance.

There is none. But is the price really cheaper when you add on appropriately insured delivery?

Amazon.co.uk and .de now deliver to Poland for free.

no customs duty ? if so , it is cheaper

I paid £65 for a similar fully insured DHL package from UK to Poland.

No customs duty. However, it does become a major pain in the arse to put stuff bought in the UK down as a company expense in Poland, which means it's hard to reclaim the VAT and get the income tax taken off the top too. Doing those two things will take the real price of a 12,300zl computer down to 8,100zl.
