Come on, since when are British people open to new cultures?

Have you ever been to Britain, if so, I think you should have spotted many different cultures.

You simply cannot tar everyone with the same brush. All countries have faults, even mine and yours. No ones perfect ( except God ).

So personal issues should be just that....... personal.

Pick on Gordon Brown for example ( an individual ), not the English nation.

Gay nation as we call them in Balkans.

Remember the Greeks invented it.

oh, c'mon look at these negro children having fun on her majesty's ship:

And we were among the last major nations to get involved with slavery and among the first to abolish it!

Thanks G-d not all English people are like Gordon Clown...and thanks G-d they aren't Nick Griffin either!

I haven't been to the UK (yet) but the day I go there, I hope I can eat Fish and chips and not Kebap and Chips!!

I hope I can eat Fish and chips

You can do that in Poland! There's a new Chip 'oil opened in pl. Konstitucji (by returned Poles). The person who told me about it is a Southerner, from Kent (whatever that is) so not used to really good fish and chips, but he said it's OK.

I'll go tomorrow and see if it's any good. Hope they have pickled eggs and meat pies too.

It seems (except for summer) to exist mainly for flights to PL.

Easy jet are moving there from EMA in a month or so, Prague and a few other places. I have flown with Wizz a few times from there to Wroclaw (Which is also back)

The Polish boom in emigration to the UK is coming to an end according to figures released by the British Home Office.

They say they are receiving only half the number of job applications compared with the years 2005 and 2006.

Thought I'd give this a bump.

Funny how certain themes have a way of popping up again and again.

I don't tend to buy this business of the Polish that came here are going back to Poland.

They go back for Christmas, summer holidays and family emergencies and that's pretty much it. They have their feet too firmly under our table to go back permanently.

It would take a major shift in UK government policy which makes the UK unattractive to economic migrants to make anyone want to go back anywhere.

The educated ones are (and have already left in many cases) - but the uneducated ones have little to nothing to return for.

Yes, you are probably right there as the only ones I tend to encounter (although this is mainly Eastern Europeans generally) are those on benefits that still don't speak any English.

Freedom of movement across Europe......what a great idea !!

Too right, theres nothing like having a scotch after giving a lippy pom a smack in the mouth, esp in their own country.

There are not that many poles in Norway. 60,000 compared to 500,000 in the UK (in 2011).

Polish People in the UK - Office for national statistics

Polish People in Norway - Statiskisk sentralbyrå

The standard of living for immigrants in Norway is not much better than any other European country. The "good wages" simply offset the immense cost of living and poles in particular are treated like an underclass by most Norwegians.

What utter garbage.

Why would anyone leave this country to earn 200 quid in Poland when they can earn more sat on benefits in council housing??
Some are even making arrangements to ship their elderly/disabled parents over here.

There must be exceptional circumstances why any Pole would move here then go back.

Most Poles are rather patriotic. Maybe they just miss their home-country and family.
hudsonhicks 21 | 346
3 Nov 2012 #83
Yes very patriotic. But visiting is enough, flights are cheap. Most families come over anyway.. like i said we have many elderly Poles here scrounging of us.

Plus opening Polish Sausage Shops everywhere gives a feeling of home,.
