LondonChick 31 | 1,133 11 Sep 2008 #2What do you mean?...Cancelled or what? Give us a few clues... which airlines?
djf 18 | 166 11 Sep 2008 #3Are you talking about the delays with Ryan-air?:news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinburgh_and_east/7607633.stm
OP ewan28 2 | 4 11 Sep 2008 #4well last year there was talk of direct flights.from aberdeen or inverness to poland.
Seanus 15 | 19,706 11 Sep 2008 #5Yeah, there was a survey done in December last year. Nothing came of it, despite the high level of interest expressed. A needless paper-wasting activity. I chatted with a checker at the airport a few weeks back when I was in Aberdeen. He told me that the whole thing just fell through but certain people are trying to revive the issue.I, for one, welcome this. Even if it wasn't entirely profitable, it would still provide a much needed service to Poles who reside there. It'd cut out a 3-hour bus trip to Glasgow or Edinburgh.Well, I have to ask again. Other than British Airways, which airlines fly directly to Aberdeen airport from Poland? None of this stop-over nonsense.
MIPK - | 69 3 Aug 2010 #6list of destinations from Aberdeen and according to that there aint even a BA direct flight... be nice though as when i get round to showing the misses where i'm from make things a bit easier...
Seanus 15 | 19,706 4 Aug 2010 #7Thanks for the help, MIPK :) It just goes to show how money trumps convenience.
MIPK - | 69 5 Aug 2010 #8ah well maybe 'Trump convenience' might occur after he's finished mucking about with Balmedie and then we might get the extra flights :)
Seanus 15 | 19,706 5 Aug 2010 #9I'd doubt it. Are you from Aberdeen, btw? I know a guy who went to Perth, OZ, but it would be a shot in the dark that you are him.We need a direct flight by next year. Without one is just having a laugh.
MIPK - | 69 5 Aug 2010 #10originally from Inverurie, been stuck in OZ for quite some time... headed to Rzeszów in about 2 months... will be nice to be a bit closer so can actually make the trip back a bit more often :)
Seanus 15 | 19,706 5 Aug 2010 #11Aha, the best way is from Krakow to Edinburgh and then up the road by bus to Aberdeen.
