Irish (and British) - the best people I've ever met. The most recent tragic deaths of two Poles in Dublin should not create hate between Poles and Irish. Let's love and respect each other, guys. Love and peace!

I agree, particularly in respect of the Irish. Poles should remember the assistance the Irish gave to the Poles in their insurrections

Poles hold no hatred at the Irish for what has happened...... The statements released by the families clearly reflect this. Also the responce from the Irish community has been heartwarming. It clearly shows the beauty of Irish Society.

However I hope this is not forgotten and highlights the racism that Poles encounter in the UK....

Ireland and Poland are kindred spirits. They are very much the same. Poles and Irishmen have been through nearly the same struggles and burdens, there should be no hatred, only respect and admiration.

This is a good thread, there are similarities here between the 2 countries. Isolated incidents of stabbing cannot be allowed to jeopardise cordial relations

I'm Irish and my boyfriend is Polish, and we're very happy together :) We have lots of differences (eg when it comes to cooking!!) but we learn a lot from each other.. I have a good few Polish friends, and when we get together to party - the Poles and the Irish, those have been some of my best night's out!!! In my experience i think the Poles and the Irish are a great mix!! And now in my home we all eat Polish food sometimes!!

I'm glad the Poles love the Irish - I'm 1/2 Polish, 1/4 Scottish, 1/4 Irish - perhaps that explains my fiery nature, and the obsession for cooking enough food for the whole street!

Irish people should return to its deepest roots that share with Poles

What can Britain offer to Ireland, what EU can offer to Ireland? On the long run, only blood and tears, only lack of resources and oblivion, only spiritual downfall and betrayal of native European interests, only loss of Western values

But, Poland. Poland is something else. Poland can save Ireland and give strong recommendations for Ireland to the rest of Slavic world. i myself, same as all the Serbians, greatly respect Irish people and see Ireland as part of consolidate vast Slavic civilization

what EU can offer to Ireland?

I think it's pretty obvious what the EU has and had to offer to Ireland. In 2012 they have to start giving back to the EU, shows what they have received before.

Recommend Ireland to the Slavic world? That has been done pretty much already - given the tsunami of Slavic ppl into Ireland last 6 years.
While I appreciate the fact of your romantic ideas, Crow, I think it's by far not fair to dismiss the great Western European Cultures and claim that Slavic culture is the only sound one in Europe.

Irish are not even human beings, why would i love them? They're almost as bad as English, Scottish, Germans or French, not as bad as Americans, Spanish or Russians though.

Ireland is not, never has been, nor ever will be "slavic".

Better start learning Polish b*tch, the "lets work in UK" is just a cover up, our stormtroopers are coming.

the assistance the Irish gave to the Poles in their insurrections

Stalin was Irish.
