First proper "Polish" School in the UK - The Next Stage of Ghettoisation

You are given a Camera,a plasma screen TV and a BMW or Audio upon entry to the UK,didnt you know that?

OK, I am going!!

And I don`t mind that some obsessed Brits may call me a parasite. They are losers, green with envy.

303 Squadron wasn`t the only one which saved Britain!! There were more of them!!! Time to repay old debts!!!

PS. I also need a good computer because it would be stupid to take my Polish one into the UK.
I dodn`t need a mobile as I like my present one. I have had it for a year. I am a traditionalist.

Hi Pawian, I teach Spanish and French in an Academy (secondary) and organise special provision as well, mainly behaviour intervention and curriculum development.

If you want to teach in a primary/ secondary school you will need a QTS ( Qualified Teacher Status). What do you teach in Poland? There are different requirements for different subjects. EFL and English are entirely different.

Of course they are angry.

"Would you like fries with that?"
"wilt u frietjes bij?"
"quieres papas fritas con eso?"
"souhaitez-vous des frites avec ça?"
"Вы хотели бы жаркое с этим?"

No that's YOUR job :D

behaviour intervention

What's that? I suspect it's a bit different from when I was at my RC Grammar school for boys.

Unless that is you want to work in Acadamy in which case dont bother bringing your paperwork with you as you will be over qualified if they get their way. The scummy profit making monsters want to employ unqualified teaching staff and the Tories are backing them.

(BTW, Eva, thats not a dig at you, you must know all about the latest madness here, soldiers straight out of the Army to teach sports, failed businessmen to teach ,well, business studies...with not one day of formal teacher training....)

No that's YOUR job :D

It was untill a Polish Theoretical Mathmatician stole it!!!!!! :)

Hi teflcat.

It's a programme designed to improve behaviour of kids with EBD (emotional and behavioural difficulties). It covers internal exclusion, external exclusion and working with PRU. I'm a troublemaker myself so we get on really well:) It's great fun:)

What was it like at your school?
isthatu2 4 | 2,694

They still have a PRU in your area? Wow, lucky, they seem to be closing down rapidly these days.

ps, With you not being hot for religion Im guessing you dont work for the Vardy group then ? :)

Marist Fathers. All boys. Brutal. I recently found my old sports master on Friends Reunited and asked him if he remembered hitting me on the arse with a cricket bat. He said he didn't. If a man can't remember beating a twelve-year-old child with a cricket bat, he's either a liar or insane. I could go on but let's say British education has moved on in at least one respect.

Isthatu, I've worked both in a mainstream secondary school and and in an academy, I haven't seen a one unqualified teacher so far, but I've only been in the UK for two years now so I'm not an expert. I'd say you need to doubleprove yourself when you work at any academy because they only sign one-year contracts. If you don't deliver, adios! My academy offers private healthcare, gym membership, relocation package, extensive CPD training and we are on MPS which is not anway the case. This is a majoral academy and there's a lot of money involved, so maybe I'm just lucky? The behaviour was challenging at first, but that's sorted now ( well, at least in my classroom :D).

Oh I hate religion, I work for London Academy Enterprise:)

Do you work is education as well Isthatu?

Eva Aeri if your credentials are true then well done. congratulations. I'm sure you would have found employment here before 2003, with a working visa.

You are worlds apart from the majority of trash from Poland that flock here.
For starters you're actively conversing in English on an English language forum, that pretty much makes you a different breed!

No, Im the dyslexic Black Sheep in a very academic family most of whom work or worked in Education . Others curse their dyslexia, I thank it for keeping me out of Teaching. :)

Explains the good conditions then, plenty of money floating around for southern centric pet projects :)
No, the reason Im sceptical about Acadamies and Free Schools is ,no matter what they claim they do drain funds from State Schools and tend to be located in politicaly tactical areas rather than always in the areas where their slightly different aproach is actually needed.

Also, the local Acadamy to me is one of those loony ones teaching kids that creationism (literal bible nonsense) is on a par with Darwin .... :)

It was opened and semi state funded on the promise that it would be there to improve the chances for kids from a deprived village that fell within its catchment area.....all well and good, the acadamy then set about expelling a huge percentage of those kids on spurious grounds and bussed in kids from well out of the catchment area.

There are maybe three black and asian families living in the catchment area of the school but literaly dozens of black and asian kids in the school ( and no *jokes* about birth rates, these are not local kids :) )

Mind you, what do you expect when a couple of second hand car salesmen decide to open some schools?

I was only 20 then, so I'm not sure :) But seriously, I understand your frustration guys, I'm very very much against people who emigrate and then don't respect the county they are in. However, please, please, please don't generalise. There are a lot of Polish people who are very grateful and happy to be able to work here and who want to contribute, integrate and support this country and who love it and call it home. I have a picture of Team GB on my timeline, so you can see for yourself:))

Isthatu, you may want to read a book called 'The gift of dyslexia'. If anyone criticises you because of dyslexia tell them to f***k off. Benjamin Zephaniah is dyslexic and yet he's one of the most amazing poets I've ever read.

Mind you, what do you expect when a couple of second hand car salesmen decide to open some schools?

I think some people feel nobilitated when they can call themselves 'sponsors' ( school sponsors:), so they open academies like mad.

Also, the local Acadamy to me is one of those loony ones teaching kids that creationism (literal bible nonsense) is on a par with Darwin .... :)

Laughable really.

I noticed that when a true Labor Party member is confronted with arguments to which they have no reply, he says: "Fascinating!".
I noticed that when a true Tory is confronted with arguments to which they have no reply, he says: "Laughable!".

But here, it is "laughable really". A Liberal Democrat?

Unfortunatly ,no. To recieve the highest rate you have to prove an almost complete lack of understanding, thats when the extras kick in, the 24 hour personal interpreter, the Laptops for each child, the work place assistent and of course the years free tutition at either Oxford or Cambridge in conversational English (summer school for regional dialects optional extra).

Burn it down !:)

I would do,but having been to a couple of Blood donation sesions there Ive got to admit the facilities are marvelous . :)
The ironic thing about the choice of such an *anti science* ethos school is that it replaced my old Grammar school which had produced two Nobel prize winners in the sciences........

Thank you Eva.
I honestly dont feel it as a curse,it just makes you adapt, see things from a slightly different perspective sometimes(would Einstein have come up with his special theory without it?),plus,it always plays to my theory that its better to let people think you are dumber than you actually are :)

Im wondering if you have come across my type of dyslexia before though Eva, I have no problems reading, always had as a child an advanced reading age standard, I can also proof read almost anything and spot the mistakes only Im *blinded* to my own spelling mistakes ......

Eva Aeri if your credentials are true then well done. congratulations. You are worlds apart from the majority of trash from Poland that flock here.

While being capable of praising people who, like Eva, know six languages for coming to Britain to work there, why can't you show any compassion for the sick, the disabled and the unemployed, swan-eating Poles? Come on, why do you want to welcome only those who are succesful in Britain, telling others to go home?

The Poles who work in the UK pay taxes to the British government, and the British government pays benefits to those Poles who are unemployed or who have children. It is really the question of proportions; do the amounts paid in taxes by some Poles outbalance the amounts paid out in benefits to other Poles? In other words, Poles in Britain, do they finance other Poles in Britain or do they not? If the amounts that are paid in send the balance to the red, then undoubtedly it is not good for the the British economy as a whole (however, in the calculations I would include those Poles who work illegally, but to the benefit of the black British economy).

I'd hedge a bet that 90% of Polish immigrants work low-paid jobs, thus claim Tax Credits to boost their earnings, child benefit, council housing and other little goodies, thus negate most of their tax revenue they bring.

Add to the fact they send a good amount of money out of the country thus training our economy.

And the fact that they're taking a job of some British person.

The British EMPIRE going soft now? Watching the London Olympics Opening Ceremony dawned on me how similar UK & US are in terms of being melting pots. I stated to friends while I applaud the open-minded & self reflecting show the Brits put on, I would be embarrassed if Poland introduced Rap, women kissing & inter-racial couples to the Olympic games.

I'm surprised this comment went unnoticed.

Highlights the main cultural differences between British people (Black and White) and Eastern Europeans.

You're RACIST. We are not.

That is hilarious. I can assure you that the Poles do not send anywhere near the amounts abroad that the UK government does, 13 billion a year in Foreign aid and 53 million every single day to the EU, not even including the money used for bailouts to the PIGS. These are published amounts, not the guesswork that you use. Ask your friends (if you have any) and the people around you, what they are more concerned about.

You worry about the little things and cannot see the bigger picture

Eh. You didn't become a Melting Pot on purpose. You imperialized the Globe manipulating & murdering, and then were forced to accept immigrants that helped you kill overseas

Eventually your white women integrated with your brown & black immigrants. UK didn't do it on purpose, you were forced to. Your leaders sold out your culture for personal economic gains.

History books still regard Polska as the freeist host in European History. And Poles are smart enough to take advantage of UK's capitalistic system while not selling out it's own country to mass immigration (cheap labor)

Today there are about 5,000 Polish citizens who are of Black African origin. Historic backgrounds vary, although they are typically either refugees or children of racially mixed couples. They are almost exclusively located in the major cities of Warsaw and Kraków.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Africans_in_Poland

You can understand the racism, they're not used to people with different colored skin. There's a documentry on youtube about Polish Immigrants arriving here, one lady was interviewed and she said she was "Frightened" of the Black people

The contrast in experience during WW2, the Holocaust & 70 years after for our two countries (and I'll add the American perspective) has molded the current opinions of our people

I'll keep it short: Poland was the rag doll in WW2: Invaded by two sides, betrayed by it's Western allies, continue fighting & help aid the same Western allies only to be later betrayed by them yet again in Treaty signings. Poland was thrust into this position because of it's very large Jewish population. Except for the UK, Russia & Poland, everyone else pretty much laid down their guns and went on with their daily lives. France was more than happy to help assist in the rounding up of Jews. Here is the kicker. Jews that left life in Poland behind arrived in the new lands with horror stories about Poland. Decades later with the help of bs history taught, a substantial amount of current day Jews question Poland's role in the Holocaust/Concentration Camps. Fast forward to the Western rape of Polish work industry etc.

So you see why Poles, having just gotten off the WW2 canvas are weary of foreigners back at home. I'll also add I remember watching a clip of the ''Battle of Monte Cassino''. Eventually the allies liberate Rome & it dawns on me: There were more than enough people in the town square to liberate themselves. You have to ask yourself, if Poland knew they would get no support from UK/France......how different would Polands WW2 experience be if they had done like rest of Europe did & just rounded up Jews for Hitler.

If you read a book on the subject you would know Rome was declared an Open City. No one fought in Rome.

But seriously, what has world war two got to do with you being a racist american? I mean, I know you savages still had segregation and treated Black US Soldiers worse than nazi POWs but.....

Many Poles arriving in the UK end up renting property from foreigners, Arabs, Pakistanis, Indians etc.. as these guys dont mind doing deals, not many Poles that come here have £800 plus for a months deposit and rent upfront for a small flat. So they end up in the poorer areas with the already established foreigners, crap holes basically.
