Do all Brits take (illegal) drugs?

Interesting thread. I'm against all illegal drug use professionally but when I was 14-17 I did try out many things. Much to my disappointed speed and cocaine had no affect on me. Apart from making my penis turn into a shrimp(the speed). Hash just made me sleepy and hungry (which at that age i was normally) but I took E's when clubbing. Last summer in Krakow at a rave festival I got hold of a bag of E's. I gave them out to friends who had begged for them. They all took one expecting to be mad with it. I found I had to take at least 5, so I think they are a lot softer than in the UK. Cocaine is mixed with all kinds of sh1t in Poland. I never tried it personally but tasted a bit on the tip of my tongue to see the effect. Wasn't much so i guess it was a waste of time :/

I think it helps when your country has a happening music scene. Britain has always been at the forefront in many genres and caters for so many tastes. When you are spoilt for choice, you can often over-indulge. My cousin was well into his drugs and he often lived it up during the night but enjoyed his come-down music too.

In Poland, there are many strong musicians too. Not on a par with the range of British offerings but still impressive nonetheless.

Exactly. Have only taken E about 6 or 7 times but you would know if you had a proper E, definitely. Even one.

OF COURSE!

Ah, I never knew.

If anything, Khat's a mild stimulant, but I agree it wouldn't be great for an army; you have to chew it for a hell of a long time to get much effect. Ephedrine (legal in Norway, by the way) would be a better choice.

Funnily enough, Norway banned redbull because of the Taurine.

you would know if you had a proper E

MDMA has nothing to do with the XTC sold on the street, unfortunately.

They put Strychnine in to XTC, that's why people's jaws hang out, it's feckin toxic stuff.

Edit*

I was wrong.

The internet is great for clearing up all the crap I have heard :)

Of course, I know what you mean. Maybe I've been a bit lucky in the quality of pills I had though. Worth the money for me anyway ; )

Strychnine is said to have been imbibed in Biblical times. That's why the Pentecostals quaff it like there's no tomorrow. Another reason to be cautious when interpreting religious texts. That can warp your mind and send you off on a one-way ticket to la-la land.

Recently they were saying that dopalacze contains strychnine.

I used to be on one expat forum a while ago, where everyone felt very comfortable around each other, eventually most of us knew who the other people were. Then, a total creep warmed his way in a caused some real havoc, from repeatedly taking down the website to sending e-mail to some of the members employers and posting unfavorable reviews of members rental homes. So... beware.

Hehehe, RIP Bill Hicks. He made many valid points about drug use and encouraged the maintaining of an open mind. His sketches were priceless and I enjoyed him as a spokesman. Reeeeeeeeeeeal fuc*in high on drugs :) :)

I'd go with Bill Hick's stand up sketch above your post.

As the old saying goes, "just say no!"

They aren't worth the risk to your health. You never know truly what you could be taking and the consequences could be fatal. (My professional head).

My normal head would say, its up to the individual if they want to take the risks.

Very occasionally take a toke. Would do a line if the opportunity presented itself and if I was sure of the quality and the company - but wouldn't bother otherwise. It would need to land on my lap really. That's it. Stopped regularly taking stuff when i was about 30 I guess. Started at about 16, peaked at maybe 22-25.

When I did take stuff, I was probably a bit irresponsible, took risks, put myself in occasional danger etc - but obviously that's all with hindsight. Having said that, wouldn't change any of it.

This to me would seem more of a warning about the impurity of street drugs and lack of discussion/education about the various forms of drugs than anything else.

''Just saying no to drugs'', without any knowledge of what it means seems unrealistic to me. I would prefer to be informed about something and then make an informed decision rather than just blindly having someone else's opinion.

God Bless, Seanny :) No thread on drugs is complete without Hicksy. This is real America right here, freedom of speech and no PC anally pedantic nonsense to mask the truths he speaks. One of America's greatest losses, Bill Hicks.

What I mean is that if you "know" its illegal and it can have harmful effects, then its better just to say no. How many people really know what an E or some speed contains? They know enough to say that the drugs can give a certain high or much needed energy, but they also know that it can have more harmful effects. This is why I believe that all drugs should be legal, that way there can be some regulation on what is in them and takes away the power of the dealer. Who for profit would mix all kinds of stuff with them.

This to me would seem more of a warning about the impurity of street drugs and lack of discussion/education about the various forms of drugs than anything else.

Exactly, as a Psych nurse I've seen some fecked up cases.....did it stop me a year ago...no. But then again im a great nurse but a crap patient :D

unfavorable reviews of members rental homes. So... beware.

I am my employer, and have enough capital not to have to worry about what other people say about me. The markets don't care who's selling or who's buying :)

Ok so I know what's your experience, PF users, but what's your attidute now?

I'd say go for it, if it's legal in your locale. If not, it's too much of a risk. If you're an idiot, exploring the extremities of living life might not be for you. If you have your life in order, and can make halfway decent decisions, why not?

God bless clearing houses. Besides, the full-on trader lifestyle WITHOUT the old Colombian marching powder is hard to envisage...

Heck, even travel guidebooks envisage the use of such drugs by using phrases like 'for those that are psychotropically inclined' etc etc. People from all walks of life may try and conceal their drug use but they have nothing to be ashamed of if they take things like hashish in moderation. As long as it doesn't harm others or hinder their work.

God bless clearing houses.

Amen to that, no discrimination whatsoever. Places one square amongst equals.

Ah, and there's the key, balance, plain and simple/

Moderation and balance, the key words here. I'm on the legal stuff tonight, Polish honey krupnik :) :)

Back to Britain, I was never really taken by the whole idea of taking a girl that was out of her mind back. It seemed like inadvertent rape. When you take a drug, you lose yourself in the experience and people should leave you be. When I took hashish through a pipe, I just wanted to blend in with the music. It's about respect for space.

Its a strange one that, is it inadvertent rape if you both are fecked on drugs?

Moderation and balance, the key words here. I'm on the legal stuff tonight, Polish honey krupnik :) :)

It is untill your the poor sod whose body reacts badly, then its just you puking blood and having your bowels explode at the same time, let the doc pronounce you dead after that ;)
