Bank Pekao branch in London?

I live in London but have to maintain an account in Poland for certain ongoing activities.

I was around Trafalgar Square the other and I could have sworn I saw a branch of Bank Pekao SA. Has anyone used this branch? I ask because I currently have an ING Bank Slaski account in Poland which is becoming very expensive in terms of ongoing charges and fees to pay in. I would like to investigate a Bank Pekao alternative even better with a branch in London I can drop in to.

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure that it wasn't PKO Bank Polski?

Anyhow we don't like the first here (in Poland at least)

There's a PKO Bank Polski branch on Shaftesbury Avenue. I've got an account there but it is not as useful
as you might hope because you cannot pay money in there. You have to send everything to a branch in Warsaw
which means paying a SWIFT transfer fee. However, it's better than nothing and the staff are very helpful if you have
questions.

Thank you both very much. On reflection, it was a PKO Bank Polski. If they are that helpful, I might pop in to have a chat and see if it is better than my existing ING bank account.

Update: I visited the Bank PKO branch in London - 151 Shaftesbury Avenue. Unfortunately, that branch is closing down by the middle of the year and they cannot open the basic current account which was the only account they offered before.

The helpful receptionist recommended a UK freephone helpline which goes to Poland wih english speakers (0808 234 4520) but you would still need to open the account in Poland henceforth.

What are the charges you refer to? Do you mean the charges for transferring money into it, i.e. the ones which are charged by your bank in the UK?

No Harry, My tenant in Poland has to pay about 2% of the amount to physically deposit his rent in my bank account at the branch.
