Where are you from in Sweden, first of all?

Secondly, if you plan on spending (spontaneously, of course:-:) more than a casual amount of time in the Polish capital, I'd learn at least the basics of the language. Start of with a simple, friendly "Cześć!" (Tschesjss)

Dobrej zabawy! - Ha' det saa trevligt!

Get a curry at Namaste Clay Oven on ul Piwna.
Have some good Polish beer at the bar next to Namaste Clay Oven.
Walk down Krakowskie Przedmiescie to check out the architecture, then carry on down Nowy Swiat and have a couple of cocktails at Sense before trying some of their 120 different types of vodka.

Whilst I've only been to Szczecin, try the nightclub Krokodil. If it still exists, it's probably great. It was once a Cold War hot spot, I'm told.

It's a 'Magda Gessler' restaurant now: krokodyl.com/about-krokodyl

Pity. With none of the old cloak-and-dagger flavor, I'll wagerLOL

I had a really bad curry there not long ago. I like chillies, spicy food etc, but that was just taking the p1ss. Not as bad as the Tandoori Palace, but still awful. Expensive too.

Great place. On the way back, Przekaski Zakaski is fun, especially in the middle of the night.

Meaning it was too hot? I've lost count of the number of times I've been to Clay Oven but have never had a bad meal there.

Cracking little spot that!

Dramatically so, (this from someone who's almost addicted to the stuff) and no other discernible spice. I was with T (you know who I mean) and he had the same thing. The flesh was nearly coming off our bones. Maybe they were just having an off day in the kitchen since everything else about the place was OK. Good service.

Isn't it. Even if you stay sober, you still feel drunk after a few mins. If the OP's 19, he'll probably like Chinatown (behind the buildings opposite Sense)

That new one at the Nowy Swiat end of Foksal seems lively at the moment (the one with all the PRL kitsch) during the night - it usually gets some of the Piotrus crowd as well as the jeunesse doree. Don't know what it's like in cold weather though.
