My trip is just at the planning stage at the moment, but I am hoping to visit the sites of 2 POW camps this summer, one of them being at Żagań.
I will be based in Wrocław, and plan to travel by train to Żagań.
Has anybody been to the site of Stalag Luft 3, the museum on the site of Stalag Luft 8, and the memorial to the escapees that were executed?
As I will be arriving by train, I want to know if it's possible to see all this on foot. I don't mind doing some walking, and I gather the museum is about 1km away from the site of Stalag Luft 3. Is everything else very spread out, and how far away is the station from the sites I want to see?
I've found bits of information on Google, mainly how badly everything is signposted, so it would be good to hear from anyone that's done this trip before.
I also plan to visit Stalag 8b and The Central Prisoner of War Museum in £ambinowice, so if anyone's been there, I would like to hear from you.

Harry's probably the man for information, but like I told you by PM, it's apparently a bastard of a place to access without a car. I've got some information somewhere about how to get there and about, but I'm not sure where :(

I am going to travel to Warszawa and then to Żagan (Lubuskie wojewòdstwo). This is the place where I was born, but i had been living there only for 8 months and then left the country. Now it's going to be my first trip to Poland since then . Tell me please what is the best way to get from Warszawa to Żagan? Dzięnkuę bardzo!
