Road Trip through Poland in the Summer

Hello all

Since moving to Gdansk last year I would love to see more of Poland. So the idea is to do a road trip during the Summer (potentially August). We do have a car and ideally we would like to camp but if that's not possible we can stay in hotels for the occasional night. But we are on a tight budget, so cheap and cheerful is the way forward.

Has anyone done it? Any must-see's? Haven't been anywhere (apart from Rzeszów and Auschwitz as teenager) in Poland. So I guess Krakow, Wroclaw and Warsaw should be on the list?

Cheers

If you stick to eastern Poland, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding hotel rooms (basic but serviceable) for under 150zl for a double room with breakfast in most places.

But if we quite fancy camping? Or is that not a good idea?

If you're planning to do it in eastern Poland, bring lots of good quality mosquito repellent.

It's not a bad idea at all, and can be done very cheaply in many parts of Poland. For instance, I stayed here once - hotel-pttk.pl/pl/camping - not a bad place at all and ridiculously cheap if you want to camp.

You can go much better than that if you look for rooms in private places - last time I was there, you could get a very decent room with a bathroom for as little as 70zl a night. I did stay in one very strange place in Nałęczów though..

Malbork !

Depends on what you are looking for. For the August trip I'll sugest you holiday destinations: Mazury, Baltic Coast, or maybe Toruń, Bydgoszcz, Chojnice if you want to see somting else.
