Without googling: Jewish, but I may be mistaken. :):)

the legend.

The younger brother was envious of the older brother's taller tower, and so he murdered him. But he was remorseful, and on the day that the church was due to be consecrated, he pierced his own heart with the same knife he used to murder his brother with. He then fell to the ground from his tower. The End!

Yes. The succinct answer is: they both died. :):)

I meant two kinds of flavour which were available in the past.

I thought they were quite plain? Ones topped with poppy seeds and ones with salt? Or cheese?

The succinct answer is: they both died. :):)

Of course, but I'm educating those who might not know of the legend ;) Ha!

Ones topped with poppy seeds and ones with salt?

Yes, that`s what I meant. Can we say those were two flavours?
Riddle solved.

I'm educating those who might not know

Hey, these are my words! :):)

Can we say those were two flavours?

I would say they are toppings rather than flavours, but I guessed that's what you meant.

Hey, these are my words! :):)

And I'm stealing them :)

I would say they are toppings rather than flavours,

Yes, indeed, flavours are inside the product, toppings are on the surface. Silly me.:)L)L)(0-p-

What is going on?

Riddle solved.

That one, but I still have no idea about the middle-aged woman shouting at artists who stood next to their work.....

What is going on?

Looks like they're setting up to sell their produce. That ham/boczek or whatever it is, is about to be weighed. Something to do with Easter approaching?

It certainly is an interesting city to take photographs.....

Actually, a very fine picture of the Kościół Mariacki in Kraków you've taken.

Recently an inscription of the year date has been discovered in its main altar by Wit Stwosz. Does anyone know what that inscribed year was?

1486, 3 years earlier than the official date of its consecration.

the middle-aged woman shouting at artists who stood next to their work.....

She was annoyed seeing the naked acts in pics. She screamed it was a disgrace. But now I don`t remember if she did it for religious reasons or feminism.

Yes, selling home made meat products before Easter. I used to buy some too.

I have run out of pics I collected in the temporary riddle folder. I need to choose new ones from taken-photos folders of 2018 and 2019 but I am not sure when I do it coz I am sick and a new week of hard work is ahead of me. Stay tuned, just in case. :):)

I am sick and a new week of hard work is ahead of me

Have a rest and post something when you feel better. I'll look through my photos and see what I can come up with.

She screamed it was a disgrace

Haha, it's just art. Still, times have changed since then.

An easy riddle, just guess the city in which this clock can be found.

Funny I don`t remember the clock but I know this tenement house with frescos which was restored in 1953. It is Warsaw, of course.

It is Warsaw, of course.

It only took 8 minutes for the correct answer!! Congrats, and a gold star for you. I'll have to make them harder :)

I'll have to make them harder :)

If you want to make it harder, don`t post anything about Warsaw. As a fav city in Poland, I know a lot about it and have thousands of photos from our multiple family and school trips.

Or,. it`s better to revive that rule we set up a few months ago - I will abstain from guessing for a few hours, allowing others to take their chances.

Sorry I spoilt it this time. :):)

allowing others to take their chances.

Sadly, we have a lack of others :(
And back to my photos I go.......

Ok, continuing with clocks, where can this tower be found:

Funny I don`t remember the clock but I know this tenement house with fresco

I looked through my Warsaw Old Town photos and I was right - I never took the pic of the clock but of the plaque which is below it - it provides info on the restoration of the destroyed Old Town after WW2. With a communist message.

Btw, there are more clocks on Warsaw houses in the Old Town . Strange. Why have they been so obsessed with time? :)

I took a pic of the whole thing, but had to crop it as Warsaw was mentioned in the plaque, would've been a bit of a giveaway!

there are more clocks on Warsaw houses in the Old Town

I might have some, but there are lots of photos to go through! Not only Warsaw has a lot of clocks, I seem to have taken a fair few in other places in Poland! I like the zodiac figures on the 2nd photo :)

Ok, continuing with clocks, where can this tower be found:

It is the Town Hall in Torun. Yours is an old photo coz today the roof is red. A nice traveller`s blog shows it together with other places in the city

It is the Town Hall in Torun.

Yay! But my photo is not so old, it was taken about 6 years ago. The roof was red then too, but it is covered with snow.

A new and easyish riddle. Another clock tower, and two doors. Where can they be found, and what public institution are the doors a part of?

Taking into consideration the pace of changes in Poland after EU access, 6 years is eternity. :)

hahaha funny, I didn`t notice that snow. :)

and university door (near the meridian line)

Both are university doors?

own hall, rynek, wroclaw .......... and university door

Congrats Wroclaw, all correct!

Both are university doors?

Yes. The slate blue one is the Eastern gate.

I will put in another easy riddle, as I need more time to think of a complex one. Where is this church located? Don't know why it's come out sideways and for some reason rotating it makes no difference either, sorry guys!

OP pawian 224 | 24,479
25 Sep 2019 #3,118
I remember that church from our private and school trips to Zakopane.
Chemikiem
26 Sep 2019 #3,119
Of course you are correct. I guess I'll have to avoid Warsaw and Zakopane pics in the future then!

Another easy one. Where can this beautiful building be found and what institute does it house?

Never seen it. And I am afraid I won`t be able to track it down, so I give up.

Ha! That`s what I had written being in despair. A second later I gave myself one more chance. Why have I never seen it? I recalled everything what I know about your trips! It is probably in Rzeszów, the big city I have never visited. The building looks like a state institution but it doesn`t display those red boards with names, so it isn`t a school or local council hall.. There is a vague golden inscription above the front door. Golden is often used for banks. Now, it is enough to google Rzeszów, bank, towers.

PKO BP Bank.
