Hello all,

Hoping you can hlep me,

My girlfriend is going home to Poland this Christmas, (for the first Christmas in 3 Years YAY!!!)
But she is worried that she will not actually fly, I keep trying to reassure her and "keep the faith" that she will fly,

But we can not deny the facts, we both - as in Poland and UK are experiancing bad weather,

I was wondering could anyone help me and keep me posted of the current situation with the Airports/weather in Poland, TBH Moje Polski nie jest dobra so its hard for me to find the info (especially whilst I am at work LOL :-)

I am particuarly interested in Katowice airport.
She is flying from Doncaster/Sheffield in the UK and it's not so bad there, unlike London ^^

Anyway any info will be much appreciated

Regards

Adaś

She is worried because she is Polish and they do "worrying" real good, there will be no problems on the side of PL, they are geared up for extreme weather conditions, furthermore from what I have seen of the weather reports up to the 25th Dec there will not be much more snow and the weather is getting warmer here in PL. Doncaster/Sheffield if you can't get out, you won't get in.

Well my aunt was supposed to have a flight form Katowice yesterday. The flight was postponed and she will fly tomorrow "if the weather conditions are good"...

Which is dubious although the temp has gone up to +2/+3 so the snow may thaw somewhat overnight, albeit partially. I'm talking about the temp here in Gliwice which is near Pyrzowice.

Was the flight cancelled because it could not land at its destination maybe?

I've connected with the airport, and it wasn't the problem in Pyżowice but at other airports (for instance in Frankfurt planes wheels got iced over and they were unable to take them to the runway). My family is flying to states and they have a change in Frankfurt..

Good point, frd. My wife flew to Sharm Al Sheikh just last Thursday from Pyrzowice and back on Sat. She had no problems. The biggest concern is timing for yourself, Adam. My friend reserved his tickets to go back to Edinburgh some time ago and he was lucky that they ok'd it on the 18th when he was due to fly out on the 19th. It can hang on a thread, it really can.
