Hello you lovely Polish people.

I'm visiting Warsaw for 3 nights in October and I'd love your suggestions on things to do during the day, places to eat, places to taste wine, places to listen to live music and places to party during the evenings.

Maybe we can form a list? ie.

1) The Pirate Ship - Gniazdo Piratów - gniazdopiratow.com.pl
2) Live Music in the park - Pub Lolek - publolek.pl
3) Rowing the boat at Wilanów.

Feel free to copy the list and add your suggestions.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Chris.

Cross the Pirate Ship off your list for a start: it's crap.

For eating and drinking, check out the Red Hog Inn (Oberza Pod Czerwonym Wieprzem): it's a crackingly good laugh.

czerwonywieprz.pl/en

For oddball music see what's on at Pardon To Tu.

For daytime do not miss the Uprising Museum.

For wine try Mielzynski but it can be hard to get a table:

Thanks Harry. I like the look of the Red Hog Inn, and I think I've been to Mielzynski (a while back) before heading onto Balsam -

balsam.net.pl/en

I've been to the Pirate Ship as well, and added it because of the novelty beer towers. Do they still do these?

Feel free to let me know if I've got the wrong places in the links.

4) The Red Hog Inn (Oberza Pod Czerwonym Wieprzem) - [czerwonywieprz.pl/en]

This pirate ship place doesn't look anything special except for the live music- just a suburban pub and seems a bit out of town, however you should visit Chinatown - about 20 bars in a small area behind Nowy Swiat 22. Some of them are 24 hours. There's another complex of bars at Fort Mokotow which are worth a visit.

Zakaski Przekaski on Krakowskie Przedmiescie always has a good crowd spilling out on the pavement late at night. For eating Szweik in plac Konstytucji is very popular.

Great and thanks once again, I really fancy that Pawilony quarter, although I'm struggling to find any details on the complex at Fort Mokotow. Feel free to post some links?

I've relegated the pirate ship...

Cocktails at the Cinnamon club

Cinnamon shut a couple of years ago. For cocktails, try Flaming Champagne Bar at Mokotowska 43. It has the best cocktails in the city but quality really does cost.

That's one of my haunts too. It's best late at night.
For another couple of late nght ones, I'd add Bar Warszawa (like Meta but bigger) at the bottom end of Miodowa and maybe Drink Bar on Wspolna.

details on the complex at Fort Mokotow.

It isn't an organised complex, but the address is ul. Raclawicka. The only bars on Raclawicka are there.

I'm French and traveling to Warsaw this summer. Recommendations?

Hello. I am a French from Lyon, France and I am going to visit Warsaw, Poland this summer. It's been a place I have wanted to visit for a long time and now I am finally going to get a chance. I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good places and sites to visit while I am there? I will be staying for two weeks, and I am trying to learn some basic Polish before I go. Any help would be very much appreciated. :)

Have a look at this site which gives quite a lot of information. Not easy to offer recommendations without knowing your interests :

I'm mainly interested in historical sites with connections to the second world war, castles and museums, so this site is quite helpful. Thank you for your help. :)
