If you get one from Glob Taxi, it will be 99zl, regardless of the traffic. With a regular taxi taken from the street and just running on the meter, it could easily be triple that if the traffic is bad. globcabtaxi.pl

Irrespective of day and time? I would like to know as I may be coming to Warsaw. Usually taxis are a bit more expensive in evenings and on Sundays. I think buses and trains from Modlin would be too much of a pain, especially for evening arrivals.

99zl regular price. Between 22.00 and 06.00 and all day Sunday it's 129zl.

Only applicable of course when you will be flying Ryanair (who will return to Modlin). I am praying WizzAir will stay in Okęcie.

The train ought to be great but isn't - you can find yourself sitting on it for 40 mins before it leaves Modlin Station. There's a fast bus though that goes to Metro Mlociny and is quite quick.

If you get the bus, make sure you have some small change, since they aren't very good at carrying a float. I actually heard the girl who was collecting some fares tell passengers to get some coins from the bank machine! Go figure.

Check schedule

If this bus departures after your arrival then your ass shouldn't hurt much and you can take taxi later from city center to the old town. It costs 9zł when booked early online and around 30zł from the airport. It goes 1h 10min to PKIN.

Don't think I'll bother then!

Haven't booked anything yet, but after checking timetable the last bus goes 15 minutes after flight gets in. Hmm. Ryanair are not usually late but it doesn't give me a lot of time to play with......

Irony is that If I decide to get a taxi to and from the airport, it will actually cost more than my flight. Crazy!

Have a look at the online railway timetable (google PKP). The long waits are only if your flight time and the train time don't coincide. You might be lucky, and the buses from the airport to the station fit the flight arrival times.

If it's anything like airport buses elsewhere, it'll wait for the last flight. Or at least, it should...

I'm not lucky :( 1 hours wait :(
Looking at somewhere to stay is even more of a laugh! Ruled out apartments as latest check in times seem to be 10pm, and finding somewhere near to Stare Miasto isn't quite as easy as I thought it would be.

In theory...............

Have you tried airbnb? You can talk to the owners directly there - you might find someone flexible enough to leave the key somewhere for you.

If you're after a hotel, the Ibis Stare Miasto isn't at all bad (althought it's actually a ten-minute walk from there to the Old Town).

And there's always the Etap, if you don't mind being a few bus stops away.

Had a look and tbh the registration set up put me off a bit, linking to Facebook, uploading photos etc, but thanks anyway Delph.

Thanks for this Harry, I've bookmarked ( and discarded ) a few hotels after reading reviews. This one seems ok, and it's £ 25 cheaper on your site for early booking! I may well give this one a go.

And there's always the Etap, if you don't mind being a few bus stops away.

I think this one is another Ibis hotel? I don't mind a bit of traveling about, I was really looking for a good base which is close to metro/buses, places to eat etc.

Thanks Warszawski, but it's a bit further out than I was looking for.

Wherever I end up though I will have to get a taxi because of the lack of buses/trains at the right times.

It's Ibis now, their budget brand. Not the most convenient of locations.
If you really do want to use the metro (which you don't, trams are more than good enough and you'd not want to go more than a couple of stops on the metro), the Ibis Old Town is maybe 400m from Dw Gdanski metro station (which I personally have never used in the 16 years I've lived in Warsaw).

You might also want to check the ibis Warszawa Centrum, it's four tram stops west of the Old Town (along Solidarnosci, meaning it's a couple of minutes' walk from the Uprising Museum, which you will want to go to, and good for having a stroll round the former ghetto). It's usually 20zl to 50zl per night cheaper than the ibis Stare Miasto. You could walk to the Old Town from it in about half an hour but the tram is a lot easier.

Just checked and it's the same price as the one in Stare Miasto, so of the two I'd go for the one in the old town. Thanks.

Merged: Best way to get from Mlociny metro station to Modlin airport!!

Hello!

I'm taking the Polski bus from Wroclaw to Warsaw and arrive at 4:30am at Mlociny, I saw online that the modlin bus service that usually runs to the airport was not currently running at this time and was wondering what other options I have to get the to airport, the flight is at 10:15am.

Thanks!

The bus or first metro train into town and the skm train to Modlin. Plenty of time to do that.
