Białka Tatrzanska lodging?

We tentatively have reservations for U Dziedzica, ul. Środkowa 292, 34-405 Białka Tatrzanska from the last week of 26 December until 1 January. A friend wants to join us, but the lodging place doesn't have any more rooms I've checked Booking. for nearby lodging, but they all seemed sold out.

Are there any other places I can check for lodging? I'd like to find one with an open room that is nearby (walking distance or within 5 mins drive). Thanks!

I stayed here bialka.tatrzanska.com/noclegi/gazda
and can highly recommend it. The breakfast and dinner was simply phenomenal. It's totally one-star but for me the most important is a) comfortable bed b) very warm room c) piping hot water d) good and hearty breakfast e) close or nearby the slopes.

Get ready to wait in line for about 30-60 mins though.

Thanks! When you say 30-60 mins in line, do you mean the ski slopes? Or is this the line for breakfast and dinner?

Lift lines. Last year was a total disaster due to the lack of snow, most of the nearby resorts were closed and Bialka itself was only half open. Btw, that was the first weekend in January.

Oh yea, if you're gonna be driving on the infamous Zakopianka: early early morning (I'm talking about being on the road already by 6am) or late at night, the closer to midnight the better. I wouldn't expect much traffic on the 26th but returning on the 1st will be a nightmare.

Thanks again! By the way, can you tell me more about this Zakopianka?

I hate to be stuck in traffic especially since we have baby with us. If there are alternative routes, then this might be better.

I wouldn't expect much traffic on the 26th but returning on the 1st will be a nightmare.

There will be plenty of snow this year, no need to worry.

Zakopianka - take the first turn off for Rabka you see, you will go down into the village and come out by the railway station turn right and head for Czarna Dunajec then head for Nowy Targ and onto Bialka, it will save you a lot of time.

the 1st will be a nightmare.

The 1st will not be a nightmare... The 2nd will be a nightmare as Polish kids go back to school on the 3rd.

I can recommend this place, it is the place we stay Pensjonat pod Kotelnicą ul. Środkowa 207A, the location is one of the best in Bialka the numbers on ul. Środkowa are all over the shop so 207 could be next door to 247 so if you are looking at google maps beware.

Warszawski was very spot on. Even the local radio recommended the route above. I did see as much traffic on the 1st of January as well. Here are my notes for those interested in my experience:

January 2 2013
Start: 10:40am
Major traffic on 47 north to Krakow. Starting travel in Nowy Targ.

Time: 11:13am
On 47 above Czarna Dunajec river

Time: 11:43am
Chabowka town limits on 47 next to Galeria back to two lanes

Time: 11:50am
Detoured from 47 towards Rabja Zdroj and took 964 north towards Wieliczka. Finally convinced driver to stay off 47.

Time: 13:10
Entered A4 in Krakow. Overheard on local radio that traffic on 47 was backed up for 3.5 hours.

As for my experienced at Bialka Tatrzanska, I give it two thumbs up. I had fun. This is from a first time skier. More experienced skiers may have a different opinion. Traffic going into to the main ski resort (near Terma Bania) sucks after 10am. Luckily we were able to walk.

Terma Bania is an awesome experience especially outside in the heated water overlooking the ski slopes. Early morning is better (around 9 am) since the crowds were not that heavy on a Saturday. Around 7 pm the line to the Bania was long on a Sunday evening.

The next time you go to B.T ski here hawran.pl it is a nicer setting and you get mountain views.

Har har har har har har har (look how many times I typed "har"). Sure, the slopes in B.T. had up to 1.5m of snow, but then again their infamous for artifical snowmaking across Poland.

The 1st will not be a nightmare... The 2nd will be a nightmare as Polish kids go back to school on the 3rd.

har har har? the 1st was a nightmare. The 6th was even worse, damn Russians and snow.

I can 100% recommend Jurgow.

Bialka has over 100 snow machines. What is your beef.

I was in Jurgow skiing on the 6th Jan and drove back to Warszawa that evening and was caught in the snow blizzards, the A4 was a nightmare..

I can 100% recommend Jurgow.

So we can agree on one thing.

Ive got numerous beefs with Bialka, where do you want to start. But in this regard, it's about their illegal appropriation of water to produce artificial snow.

the A4 was a nightmare..

Weird, when I hit the good ol' A4 at 7pm it was a-ok. You might have seen me, I had the oldest car that was going the fastest.

Do you have a link for a story on this matter.

At 7pm I was turning off the A4 to Port Lotniczy Katowice w Pyrzowicach

Me thinks you are taking the ****, if you say there was NO snow.

No, I make stuff up all the time. Oh yea, today I'm the Duke of Early, do address me as "your lordship" please you low-classed commoner.

So was I, A4 up to S1 then to Dabrowa Gornicza.

Me thinks you are taking the ****, if you say there was NO snow.

Where did I say there was "NO snow"? It was snowy as F, and at times quite slippery. Man I really hate this forum sometimes, half the users have their heads so crammed up somewhere that they can't even read correctly, the rest are clueless idiots. You said "nightmare", I said not at all, as I was doing 150kmh the entire time without any problems in a 20 year old car.

Why are you so standoffish? You know you've picked up that Warsaw snobbism, right? I'm not one to stereotype but my god even you live up to the buractwo warszawskie. I hate going to Bialka as it's made up of Russians and Warsawians and you can't really tell the difference who is who...
