Magic BW!! :) Any suggestions for Sopot / Hel? I have found a few places, but most places are in Polish only, and many without a website.....

depends what youre after and what your budget is. sopot mainly has a choice of hotels or apartments which can be costly and mediocre, or staying with pani babcia which is best sorted once you get there by visiting the tourist info by the station

if budget isnt a problem then why not check out the recently opened sheraton and then come back and tell us all what it's like. the location couldnt be better - falling distance from the beach, molo, sfinks and monte cassino

if you want somewhere a little cool, alternative then you could try lalala - a boutique hotel where every room is designed by different polish artist, good food and a cool, intimate bar and outside decked area where local arty types hangout and discuss being cool and alternative in sopot

it's not a central location but it is lower sopot so you are on the side of the coast. a short walk down the hill and you hit the beach, turn left and walk through the forest, past the bars, clubs and restaurants and in no time at all you will be in downtown sopot. it's not a bad option as you will see a part of sopot which many visitors miss. it's also got a very good selection of wine

the owner's a friend. have i plugged it enough?

Thanks, Just had a quick nosy around the lalala site. Looks neat! I am unfortunately on a budget. I visited Sopot and Hel last year whilst I was in Gdansk, but only as a day trip, thought both places were lovely!

Hi thanks for option b. What are your thoughts on any fish, salad and vodka places? I don't mean the battered stuff (fish) - and where to indulge in the fantastic vodka? The pergogis? - BTW really like the lalala website

:)

I've been searching these locations, too, and also searched all the hotels, hostels, B&Bs, everything, in Gdansk and all around it.

In the end I've booked into Villa Akme.

My only experience in Sopot was the Hotel Irena. Very reasonable. Very clean. They have a website, and the location is pretty convenient. Most of the people there spoke some English. We had a private bath, breakfast. There is also a restaurant in the hotel. Really worth a try.
