Does anyone here know how the quality of the polish classes for foreigners taught at the University of Warsaw compare to the private language schools?
Quality of Polish classes for foreigners
I don't know I am not an insider in the industry
still I would like to make a general remark - public higher education institutions used to house and tutor students from exotic places in commie times (Arabs and Africans mostly) - so they have decades of experience teaching Polish to foreigners - some newer private institutions may not be up to the mark if their staff don't have such a background

I would think that the University of Warsaw has good qualified teachers of Polish.
However:
The most important thing in Language Training Lessons is to know how many students per class because if the class has more than 6 students ,forget it, there is no way you can learn a language let alone Polish which is pretty difficult if you are going to be in a group of over 6 students.
Pick up a school where you can learn in a mini group if you want to be able to pronunce correctly, be corrected and get the teacher's attention.

I did an intensive course at a private school in Warsaw. It was pretty good. The only problem was that it was me with three Korean guys- who were very clever, however, I had a hard time understanding what they were saying- there written test were perfect but when we had to do conversation- I had a hard time with it.

Then the best is to have individual Polish lessons. I know of a very good teacher of Polish located in Warsaw who speaks several Languages.
PM me if interested.

Likewise. Though there is a lot to be said for having a teacher who cannot speak your language.
I have had both. Private lessons from a Prof. in Polish language and group classes. I learned a lot from both.
