I am intrested in finding out about people's experiences of the one year (9 month) preparatory Polish courses offered by Polish universities for students wishing to go on further and study a degree/masters in the Polish language. If anyone has done them are they a good way of learning Polish?

I know one person (who spoke just a little Polish before), he did some kind of preparation course to improve his Polish. I guess it was about 9 months.

Now he studies dentistry successfully in Polish language. So probably he improved his Polish a lot during this course.

well you've joined just recently, anyways, that's why I said not many - most students come by and run away promptly after getting the right answer :)

hi there

At the university where I was studying we had some foreign students who did 1 year preparatory course. Here is the link www portal.pwr.wroc.pl/298563,242.dhtml but it costs 2000 euro per year :( some countries ofer such courses for free. But anyway not in Poland. I think this course should be very good. I met some people from this course and their Polish was very good and this university is also one of the best. They have high level and good methods of teaching.

Have a look at my website for basic Polish learning, all vocabulary with pronunciation polishlanguage.web.officelive.com

Merged: Looking for a long term polish course for 2 years or 1 year at least

Hello, there.

I am looking for a long term polish course for 2 years or 1 year at least. It could be in any city. Any ideas with prices and location would be great.

Specify the city first and that would narrow down the search ;).

I think it would be better to just find somebody(polish) in korepetycje who has some experience teaching english and has a decent education(maybe a degree in english philology). At least that's how I learned polish in the beginning and the price was ok,25 PLN/hour.
