Hi guys,

glad to be part of the forums.I have lived all my life in South Africa and am a Polish passport holder.I am wanting to start a new life in Germany by getting a job etc.Is there any aid that the German social system offers to European citizens?

Thanks,

Generally the principle is that one needs to first pay in to the system of EU nations other than the one which one is a citizen of but I don't have any first-hand knowledge of German law in this respect. Perhaps a forum for expats in Germany might be a better bet for you than this one.

You can get discounted language classes "integration course" and assistance of Arbeitsamt in the search of work. Except of that if you don't have enough money to pay for obligatory health insurance and your own apartment, then you will be deported. It happens rarely, but the law says so. Money for pregnant and unemployed without apartment can be begged for only after 1 year of legal work in the country.
