I'm ready. It's Istanbul. Been in Turkey before in summer. Great people, food. This time flying from Berlin and happy to avoid tourist hostile and arrogant UK as transfer point.

Turkey abolished visas for Poles.

Tourism. Turkish economic necessities.

i am all for Slavic-Turkish economic cooperation (for cooperation with anybody after all) but, still, i can`t relax there on vacation. Too much history. Turks killed too much Slavs in most bestial ways. Then again, i think to myself, who didn`t? Slavs were targeted my many. Plus, Turkey is still very backward.

If just Turkish politics isn`t again that aggressive on Slavs

Killings were mutual Crow. In Balkan Wars Serbs and Bulgarians killed many Turks, Russians killed too many Turks for centuries. We have to draw a line to the history and look forward. I personally visited Russia and Serbia and had nice times there. If you step one to Turks, Turks step two.

I think you should visit Turkey. Do not afraid your nationalistic feelings will not decrease but you will see that Turks and Slavs have more common sides in terms of way of living. I see US empire as a big threat not only to Turkey but also all world. I am happy to have close relations with our historically worst enemy Russia today.

Right now a visa is still required to go to Turkey, the new ruling has not taken been finalized, I'm not sure when it will take effect.

Killings were mutual Crow.

Who attacked first? Ottomans. Why did Ottoman Turkey come? All Ottomans took part in invasion onto the Slavia deserved to die. Its simple as that. Very simple.

In Balkan Wars Serbs and Bulgarians killed many Turks, Russians killed too many Turks for centuries.

with good reason. Those were Slavic defensive wars.

We have to draw a line to the history and look forward.

i agree to it. But, first Turkish state needs to stop to be aggressive onto the Slavs.

I personally visited Russia and Serbia and had nice times there.

Nice

If you step one to Turks, Turks step two.

i don`t see that. Its maybe how would you personally likes to see things and i appreciate that. You know, Erdogan giving quite aggressive signals from Turkey. Crazy man and, dangerous.

I think you should visit Turkey.

after Istambul officially become Constantinople, again.

I see US empire as a big threat not only to Turkey but also all world.

nothing new. Unfortunately, USA turned to be global problem.

I am happy to have close relations with our historically worst enemy Russia today.

Turkey now tries to balance USA pressure and need Russia. Its alright with us Serbs, as long as Turkey hold its hands off Slavic Balkan.

Poles, brothers and sisters

... don`t travel to Turkey. They killing Slavic children on the streets there

Crow, I'm no fan of Turkey under Erduan, but that's a stupid comment, using a single case as basis for saying that they are killing Slavic children, is like saying that no white man should ever visit NY because a white man has been killed there.

It's even less smart than saying that because of this event no Serb should cross the borders of Serbian.

Crow, I'm no fan of Turkey under Erduan, but that's a stupid comment,

Erdogan isn`t only Turkish problem. We all know that. Its not safe society. Much less safe then any society by European standards. So, my warning to all who travel to Turkey stays as realistic warning. Go send you child (if you have one) to travel to Turkey and don`t worry...

using a single case as basis for saying that they are killing Slavic children,

i just informed about facts. Murder happened. Victim was Slavic child. Should i now apologize for informing about this?

is like saying that no white man should ever visit NY because a white man has been killed there.

Its absolutely wrong example. In any sense

According to 2013 datas Turkey is the sixth greatest country in the world by means of tourist arrivals. I am sure this will be an enough answer to some useless opinions above.

According to 2013 datas Turkey is the sixth greatest country in the world by means of tourist arrivals.

its strange to me. Really. Are those data correct? What percent of arrivals is from Slavic countries? i would always advice young Slavs to rather choose Slavic countries for vacation destinations.

I am sure this will be an enough answer to some useless opinions above.

Useless?

you know, that boy was murdered just because he was Slavic. So its not just murder. Maniac heard him speak Slavic and stubbed him with knife to death. What kind of message is that? Tell me. What kind of message for potential tourists to Turkey is that? Should we expect that this what happened in France, this mass murder committed by Islamic extremists, could be possible in Turkey? i don`t know but, i sense that Turkey isn`t best touristic destination at the moment (if ever).

its strange to me. Really. Are those data correct?

Of course they are correct. For many people in the world Turkey is one of the favourite destinations. Here is the turist number from Slavic countries in 2013.

Russia 4.269.306
Bulgaria 1.582.912
Ukraine 756.187
Poland 423.129
Czech rep. 217.254
Belarus 200.659
Serbia 169.988
Slovakia 127.455
Bosnia & Her. 72.086
Croatia 44.058
Slovenia 37.692
Montenegro 18.838
Total 7.919.564 ( % 20.9 )

Other main countries;

Germany 5.041.323
UK 2.509.357
Holland 1.312.466
France 1.046.010
USA 785.971
Italy 731.784
Greece 703.168
Sweden 692.186

First of all I am very sorry for him. R.I.P. This very sad event happened before Galatasaray-Red Star basketball match in istanbul. Two fanatic fan groups of two teams meet in front of the saloon and started to fight. He was killed with a knife during this fight. It is not about his race. It could happen between any other fan groups. As far as I know although it is very difficult to find the killer as there were hundreds of fan from each side at that moment, police manage to find the suspect. I hope he will be punished.

Every Europeans know that what happened in France can not be possible in Turkey. But of course, this maniacs are everywhere in the world now. We Turks also not feel comfortable like other Europeans.

I forgot to write Macedonia. We Turks consider Macedonia as a Slavic country, not related to Greeks ;)

Macedonia : 140.793

Total : 8.060.357 ( % 21 )

BTW
Turkey has been hot destination especially for Poles for very long time , I remember back in the 70'and 80' we were hooked on Turkish goods in particular clothing , which were smuggled to Poland and then sold at "bazar" or "butik" in every major city with huge price mark-up , but that never stopped us from buying those very trendy jean jackets which could also be turned into vests ,or those colorful wool like sweaters ? Some cool sh%t remember ?...everybody had them :)

Two fanatic fan groups

only fanatic group was the Turkish one. As it is obvious from accomplishments

In any case, i see that is Turkey excluded as healthy for the sport tourism

Total : 8.060.357 ( % 21 )

well, if that is truth, then good luck to them, to put cross on myself. It would go without me. Greece, Bulgaria and Spain are for me for summer. Poland, Slovakia, Czech republic and Russia for winter destinations.

They do issue visa for american passports on arrival for 30$ and 20$ if you get it on internet before arrival.

Not quite sure what you mean here.
If you get the visa online, surely you have to pay when you submit the application and not on arrival?
UK residents now have to apply online for an an e-visa before travelling, whereas before last year they could get a visa stamp in their passports and pay a £10 fee on arrival.

USA is just the dictatorship that have a lot of money. When money is no more it would be just an average dictatorship

Oh Crow, go look for therapy with that obsession that you have with USA.

another nonsense of yours. We all knows USA ways. Its just about control and power. From the point of view of the USA, rest of the humanity is just tool, pool of resources and bunch of infidels

Not in your lifetime Mr Crow

We all live thru it already, unfortunately.

What just happened in France shows whats coming and better to curb it is nonsense?

Where were you with your thinking when USA & Co (France, Britain, Germany) used transport planes with UN (!) designations, back in 1993, in order to transport worse Islamic mujaheedines and Al Qaeda fighters to Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to weaken Slavic (Serbian) element in the region, all as part of efforts to destroy Yugoslavia and Serbia? Hey man, where were you with your thinking? you maybe even was involved in this by paying taxes that founded muja transportation

This in France? Who knows what it is. Really

Infidels?????You serious man?

what to tell you man. Its impression that one gets after looking what USA doing.

The usa is an ally of both countries I live in.
For gods sake who the hell wants to ally to you lot. Is this a joke? Or who wants to ally to the east where germans were allowed to illigaly train their tank crews and war tactics before signing eurpe over for a free offensive? You are all useless I don't even aknowledge you of the same anything. Poland belongs with europe not a watermelon farmer or a backstabbing despot. Stop whining about the yanks go and do some work make your rubbish little country better just like we all are. Ohhh that's right you can't cause you're all useless. Let us know when you achieve something we will be in Turkey on holidays but if it's important please post.

Guys, please be very careful with any hasty interpretation you may get from what happened in France this week.
We don't want another (post-) 9/11.

Marsupial, 'ally' doesn't mean 'friend'. And please avoid personal attacks.
We need to stay calm and keep our thoughts clear. This world is already a freaking mess, no need for more fighting.

Yes, you have to pay online at the time of application.

As for visa on arrival, it's a grey area. There are supposed to be booths now at Istanbul Airport where you can sort out an e-visa before going through the barrier (though I haven't noticed any) and there are wifi zones airside where you can get an e-visa however they are still issuing paper ones at the normal kiosks to the right of the immigration desks. UK citizens are supposed to get the e-visas however in Turkey things don't always work how you expect ;-)

That's what I thought but Pigsy's post confused me a bit.

From what I've read this is true, and I've also read that the visa machines at the airport are quite good at taking your money but not at actually printing out the visa! So I think I'll be getting mine online and not leaving it to chance on arrival, it would only be more hassle.
