Roman Polanski accused of unlawful sex with a minor

yes they are Jon. If it involves a child, then it is abuse, not 'pornography'.

It's both, Roz. On the part of those who watch/look at/disseminate it, it's child pornography. On the part of those who watch it, it's child abuse. Child pornography is an unpleasant but accepted term.

You're wasting so much time asking the same questions again and again

This is a bit of a theme with this guy's posts, isn't it. I suspect there are some very serious underlying issues here, sadly.

no Jon it isnt 'accepted' - I know you like arguing the toss about words, to show your superiority, but there is no such thing as 'child pornography' it is child sex abuse, full stop. Just think about it for a minute.

Roz, that is the term in use. You may not like it, I may not like it, however it's whay people say.

I know you like arguing the toss about words

It seems you're the one who's trying to argue here (late in your time zone...) however it does not help the abused children who are depicted in child pornography of the type that the guy here keeps annoying us by posting about.

no jon it isnt, not these days. Time to update yourself I think.

Google it Roz (or given the subject, perhaps better not)

not these days

The guardian used it this week. 'Images of child abuse' is in my opinion a better term, however the former is more common

The guardian

Haha, this tabloid has lost the credibility long time ago.

They're usually pretty up-to-date and on this issue they're quite sensitive to nuances in language.

Having said that, you and I discussing the latest terminology doesn't help either the young guy who obviously has a lot of behavioural and emotional problems or the teenagers who are at risk from his potential offending.

I really do think he needs to speak to someone, perhaps a counsellor, but am not sure who would be the best to help him. He should certainly address this sooner rather than later before some kid gets hurt. I suspect those around him would be pretty upset too. The tone and type of his posts on this and other subjects suggest poor mental health and in Poland there are fairly good services (at least in Warsaw and other cities) to support people who have mental health crises. Unfortunately it often tends to be done on an inpatient basis - he would probably prefer it otherwise. A stitch in time saves nine.

Underneath it all, he could be a nice guy. Unfortunately he seems determined to present as something else.

I just googled it and it looks like other media are still using this term too, like The Telegraph, The Times, the Washington Times, The New York Times, CNN, Fox News.

Once I've seen a real rape on a popular free porn site for everyone to see (the film was deleted after some time). One of the most disgusting and depressing things I've seen in my life. Was it "pornography"? I guess it depends on how you look at the term. If you see it as "the portrayal of sexual subject matter for the purpose of sexual arousal", no matter whether there is consent or not, then it is "child pornography" (and images of sexual abuse of children at the same time). If you understand the term as something that has to be consented to, then it isn't "child pornography".

Either way, it looks like this term is still in use. Probably because it's an easy "mental shortcut", something like "Polish death camps", I guess.

Polanski needs to come back to the USA. There is a nice cold prison cell waiting for this Polish Pedo

Polanski isn't going to do that if he can help it. He won't even visit Britain because he knows we'd have him on a plane back to California.

Polanski isn't going to do that if he can help it.

Polanski can get away with it because he's a rich Hollywood director with liberal friends and donations to the DNC and Obama.

Hopefully, his luck will run out soon:)

he knows we'd have him on a plane back to California.

who is this 'we' - you Jon would do fvck all and frankly the government of the UK (if that is what you mean) is largely composed of child abusers and their apologists.

who is this 'we'

Now now Roz, no need to try and pick fights. Who are "we"? The country, that's who, and the legal system which responds favourably to extradition requests from the UK. This is why Polanski does not visit (or even change planes in) the UK..

and frankly the government of the UK (if that is what you mean) is largely composed of child abusers and their apologists.

No it isn't.

Sometimes it's better not to write things online when you've had a few.

no Jon I am not drunk thank you. I don't drink.
Yes the UK govt is largely made up of child abusers and their apologists.
And saying 'we' when u mean the government is just sad.

I am not drunk

Pleased to hear it.

Yes the UK govt is largely made up of child abusers and their apologists.

No it isn't.

And yes, Roman Polanski would be arrested and extradited back to the US if he entered the UK. This is why he does not go there.

No it isn't.

you will find that it is.
Oh yes you were the one that was claiming that Jimmy Savile did nothing wrong weren't you? that his hundreds of victims were liars and fantasists?

OK
jon357 74 | 22,051

you will find that it is.

Perhaps you can name a current member of the government who fits that description?

that his hundreds of victims were liars and fantasists?

Some of his complainants (in 4 figures, when did he find the time?) certainly were and admitted this when questioned.

In Polanski's case, there's no doubt - he admitted guilt in one case and has remained largely silent on the other case.

oh 'some' of them right OK - which ones exactly if you know so much about it?
I am not going to name names here no.

which ones exactly if you know so much about it?

'which ones exactly"? I'm surprised you don't know that complainants (even if their complaints are dismissed due to cintradictory evidence) are guaranteed lifelong anonymity. Nevertheless, the matter has been fairly well publicised, not least by the number of complainants inflating the share value of Slater & Gordon which then plummeted when it turned out they had fewer clients than they'd originally hoped.

I am not going to name names here no.

Indeed. You're just going to say bizarre things like: "the UK govt is largely made up of child abusers and their apologists".

Most likely you can't "name names" because there's nothing to say.
rozumiemnic 8 | 3,854

there's nothing to say.

there is plenty to say but i am not saying it on a public forum to a Savile supporter who sees nothing wrong with the term 'child pornography'.

Have a nice night.

Savile supporter

The only 'Savile supporters' I know of are his former secretary and another lady who knew him..

who sees nothing wrong with the term 'child pornography'.

Most people use exactly that phrase when discussing that wretched topic.

there is plenty to say but i am not saying it on a public forum

Probably because there is in fact nothing to say.

Best not post online when tired and emotional, Roz.

Have a nice night.

fvck right off Jon i am not drunk

Actually, Roz, you leapt in with that one rather quickly. You may be or may not be drunk - only you can know, however tonight you're certainly behaving with little restraint or common sense.

Sad when we're discussing such a serious issue as Roman Polanski's crime and the problem of the young man who wants to make a website with illegal images.

You may be or may not be drunk

jon i will say this in words of one syllable, i do not drink. Is that so hard to understand?
'tired and emotional' is journalese for drunk, I am not drunk, but perfectly sober.

Yes the UK govt is largely made up of child abusers and their apologists.

It seems to be ok if you're a Democratic liberal in the USA as well.

And it's a fair description of the tone of your comments in this thread which is fast drifting off topic.

And meanwhile, Polanski gets closer to the grave without either serving the sentence that awaits him in California or facing trial for the allegations from the second complainant.

"Sad when we're discussing such a serious issue as Roman Polanski's crime and the problem of the young man who wants to make a website with illegal images."

Plenty of websites still exist with such images including I believe that wordpress site linked above although there ar eno images there just references to some files for download. ANd it is pretty recent site all open on wordpress with a google search not from time like Jon you suggested the company was active. But again, if plenty of sites exist with teen girls at least (thats all im talking about is 15 up nude no sex just modeling or naturistic content) why wouldnt it be legal in poland of all places? where exactly is it legal? If it isnt anywhere how would the sites exist and remain open? SO why not in Poland? Poland is closer to russia and ukraine in culture than u.s.

ANd Ive met plenty of super intelligent and witty 16 yr olds on gadu gadu, some more than me and would take advantage of me a lot faster than I of them. here are some examples of a conversations with one (hence why its legal and aoc because those cookies are smart here in Poland):
