Polish professors have appealed to president Duda to sign into law the judicial reform laws passed by the Sejm and Senate without undue delay. The reforms, according to the professors, will rid the judiciary of the poltical, organisational and cadre legacy of the PRL period. They do non violate the separation of powers nor EU norms and are similar to the solutions found in other European countries.

NOTE: The full text in Polish is in the PO POLSKU section.

There's a thread (and much discussion) on this subject already, Po. It needs merging.

I think the full name of the organisation these Professors represent is AKO Im. Lecha Kaczynskiego, and from a quick googling of some local members they are not law professors, more like a handful from other disciplines, most of who are involved in PiS at a local level. Not all are professors anyway.

Could you instead find some active law professors from reputable schools who are prepared to put their name to the theory that the proposed system is the same as in other countries ?

You're the e-gadgetarian and e-merger so go merge it. I couldn't find the MERGE button on my computuer or in the PF set-up.

Incidentally, has anyone heard of step-by-step instructiosn on how to overthrow the government? Such instructions have been provided by Bartosz Kramek and MichaƂ Broniatowski on the basis of Ukraine's Maidan experience.
