Not too serious idea. The last king left Poland in disgrace more than 200 years ago.

Poles are used to the current system.

The Piasts are long gone. Where would Poles look for their new monarch. Should Poles find another debauched Frenchman to take, and then run away from, the throne, or scour Saxony for regents? Surely Crow you don't suggest Poles elect foreign kings again.

How would it be workable at all?

Genetic engineering combined with cloning. Simple as that.

Don`t worry about the technical side of it. It is the least problem of all.

The main problem would be the lack of political will of current elites to develop that idea.

I agree. It is not a system for the present.

Good idea, but the king would have to be a she - black Jewish lesbian. That would be the ultimate blow to Polish stereotypes.

Can you make her Catholic at least? We won`t accept another denomination.

Monarchies are soo medieval, and simply don't fit into our modern day societies. I don't know how or why the UK, for example, still has one. Japan, on the other hand, has an Emperor - one who basically has no political power whatsoever, yet is incredibly adored by almost every Japanese resident.

well said

but it could be interesting for the future.

Not too serious idea.

i know. Especially with totalitarian Germany on one side and with `democratic` Russia on the other side.

But when i furthermore think of idea i am more and more sure that Russia isn`t problem on the long run. Russian long term strategic interest is survivor and strengthening of Poland. If future brings that strengthening of Poland means Imperial Poland to emerge, then i am sure, Russia won`t complicate. It is even more clear if we are aware of Russian maneuverable space on east and that Russia thinks exactly in that direction- to create new alternatives if found itself under pressure (due to all kind of interests/ideas) deeper in Europe.

Good idea, but the king would have to be a she - black Jewish lesbian. That would be the ultimate blow to Polish stereotypes.

Horror scenario, i can tell you that one

Catholic at least? We won`t accept another denomination.

Wait, you know that Imperial Poland isn`t realistic without Serbians. Now, why only Catholics? You know how it works with Serbs. Serbs are Serbs. They could be Catholic, Orthodox or Pagan.

Can you imagine Pagan Serbian as Emperor of Poland? In any case, curse from Vatican is guaranteed in that case, i`m sure

not truth. Its so romantic and promising

So, what you people think?

Do you mean constitutional monarchy?
If so then I would think most Poles would say: no
(this is from a Norwegian-Polish royalist :))

Monarchies are soo medieval

Democracy is so ancient...

Poles are used to the current system.

Even when there was monarchy in Poland the king acted more like an innefficiant president then a real king -.-
Monarchy in Poland is impossible, it just wouldn't be a monarchy even if the person called himself King.

It would be a parody. In the style of Johnny English films.
