WARSAW - Poland cleared a crucial hurdle Sunday in its closely-watched preparations for Euro 2012, as thousands braved bone-chilling temperatures at the rock'n'roll inauguration of its new national stadium.

"Poland are scheduled to play their first match there on February 29, a friendly against fellow Euro 2012 qualifiers Portugal".

but plans are already in place to move the game to wroclaw. just in case :)

btw, wroclaw stadium is not finished to plan either.

hehe

I wonder what will the Germans say when they will be made to drive through dust swept freshly tarmacked £ódź-Warszawa motorway - I guess youtube will be full of their videos :P - another Polnische Wirtschaft impulse

Why would it? It's just a fairly ordinary stadium that according to the media here already has structural problems. Hopefully no more concrete ceilings will fall down, especially during Euro 2012.

PO

Given that construction started shortly after they took office and assuming that the design, contracts, logistics etc weren't just knocked up on the back of an envelope I think we can say others were involved.

Right, the mythical others, it is nice ability to blame others ,
Anyway it is a success according to the government (PO) and the governmental success at that - who are we to say otherwise ?
Issue of motorways is a clear disaster - who predicted that they will fail on the very forum ? Where are those who argued against me ?

You do know that when governments commission something, there's always a signature somewhere.

The OP has to be from Polonia to make such a statement, how can a stadium put a country on the map. It is a buildding which is laregly forgotten about when not being used.
