Germany - We won't let Poland drown!

7 Jun 2010 #1
Ever since the beginning of the flood in Poland we have been receiving substantial
help from Germany:

- the firemen unit from Bayern is fighting flood in Kraków area;

- the ABC organisation from Munich has organised convoys with help for people
from flooded areas;

- Pfaffenhofen county has sent a water pump able to pump 8000 litres of water per minute;

- Johanna Rumschöttel - the member of Bayern government thanked all the private
volunteers and government officials who, very often turning a blind eye to all
time-consuming procedures, simply sent all the required equipment and material
aid to Poland;

- Rheinland-Pfalz has sent four firemen with a pump;

- Similar team from Ludwigshafen is working in Bytom;

- Der Bund der Deutschen Katholischen Jugend (BDKJ) is gathering money for flood victims;

- das Gemeinsame Melde- und Lagezentrum von Bund und Ländern (GMLZ) has provided
four pumps and other technical equipment and 1.8 million sandbags;

- The "Technisches Hilfswerk" organisation has sent almost entire professional equipment
they have to Poland!

- The equipment from Saarland and Hessen is currently used in Racibórz area;

- Racibórz received equipment from Bremen and Niedersachsen;

- Opole got aid from Sachsen and Turingen.

That is so wonderful that Poland is receiving help. I am due to land in Warsaw on June 21st and have been worried about Poland, and about what I will find on my trip.

O.K. Why is it sad they are getting help? You want them to suffer in the floods?

So Crow how will Serbia help its Polish brothers? You could give me money y'know i'm not flooded and i live something like 40 feet above ground but you could still send me all your money :)))))

I see your point. People who get helped too much become resentful or develop helpless mentality. But mutual help is a good thing. Poland can help her neighbors too. It can be a two way street, yes?

So Crow how will Serbia help its Polish brothers?

we doing our best to stay out from EU

save yourself from flood and go to live on Kosovo. Contribute to Slavic element there

People who get helped too much become resentful or develop helpless mentality.

But mutual help is a good thing.

Poland can help her neighbors too. It can be a two way street, yes?

hmm :)

Crow so you want poles to provide you with direct help yet you refuse to help poles when we need it? :)

OK Crow! following your thinkin, Poland will help Serbia by drain as much money as we can from "evil Germany" and therefore makin it weaker!! Its even more direct help than you want to give to us~

The Germans are bailing everyone out. The German taxpayer is a very generous soul. One would wonder how pro- EU the average German taxpayer would be if they found out the cost.

Hey, Germans! I couldnt be arsed paying me sisters car insurance this time around, any chance of a bail out? :)

Frankfurters for breakfast - need to support the German bailouts. I am going out for dinner later, I will order a German beer.

(Germans are very generous chaps)

Yet they don't pay the most for the EU.

I hope Germany will not help Poland... time will show

Why though, Paki Lahore? Despite an admittedly contentious history Poland and Germany both share, haven't you ever heard of neighbor helping neighbor?? Perhaps they don't share as common an ethnicity as Pakistan and India, for example, but nevertheless, there's never a "bad" time for a little bridge building, is there?

:-)

Until very recently (before PiS came to power) Deutschland was Poland's closest ally within EU and in the world I dare-say...

But now Deutschland with insane Merkel in power starts to be everybody's biggest enemy.

Chancellors come and go - Germany is still the single most important country in EU.

I'm not denying it.
