Hello All,

Due to the recent events involving the Iceland Volcano I was interested in knowing what the situation is with Polish Airports,

My Firend is suppose to Leave UK on Firday (23rd) evening and land in Katowice.
Assuming my friend will be able to leave UK, Will she be able to land at Katowice on Friday??? or will she be going by another means of transport???

If you could give me some info it would be much appreciated,

Thank you for your time,
Kindest Regards,
Adaƛ

My friend works at Balice and he was working yesterday in an open (albeit quiet) airport. So I would presume Katowice will be open too.

I know this website, Last week when I called them they said that flights are working though it showed cancelled on the website. I reconfirmed with the customer service and they said it is working but showed cancelled on the website this was before 12 hours of departure, he asked to called again before 6 hrs to check and when I called was cancelled. So I dont know if I should rely on the website. If anyone has been to warsaw airport can be much help. Thanks.

When this situation gonna changes

When the volcano stops pumping out ash.

VFR traffic isn't a problem. Wroclaw is open.

Wroclaw is open

Convex ... are you absolutely sure? I see nothing landing over there. And their website still states "Following the volcanic eruption in Iceland all flights from and to Wroclaw Airport have been cancelled untill further notice."

And on LOT's website: "LOT cancels all flights until Tuesday 20 April, at midnight."

If you would have looked out of your window at around 8, you would have seen a little TB10 landing for fuel :)

IFR flight plans are still being rejected, so none of the carriers are flying.

looked out of your window

Wouldn't have helped ... I am on 51.8832, 5.2884 ... faaar, faaaar away ... ;).

But I am due to fly to WRO on 231405Z APR 10, so I am rather keen to keep myself informed.

number to AIS at epwr is +48 71 358 1372.

A friend of mine got stuck up your way on Sunday in a 421. Polish CAA have been very conservative, and will probably stick to their guns.

UK Airspace is now open for "normal" business. I look forward to hearing the sound of roaring jets again. I live a stones throw from LTN a/p :) and it' been far too quiet of late.
