US air base to be in Poland

For 3rd world country like Poland

LOL

Cannot believe I actually have to explain this to some people. The point of the above is question the quoted commentator on why he holds this view and in extension why Poland needs a so called boost from the US. I guess some people are just that dense. My comment is in line with the thread, and I was not insulting anyone.

As long as American foreign policy remains enthralled to Zionism Poland would do well to reject this proposed base. As for Poland being a "3rd world country" perhaps a bit of history regarding the Three World paradigm is in order. The First World comprised the capitalist democracies of Western Europe and North America. The Second World comprised the industrialized countries under Soviet domination and the Third World was everyone else. Poland was a member of the Second World, but the Three World paradigm has been obsolete since the fall of the Soviet Union.

Oh my god. See how the American government is, an infection. If I were in Poland I would be doing everything I could to keep American armed forces bases OUT of my country. When American government gets involved you know its doomed. America is 14 TRILLION dollars in debt, most of it owed to China.

I think of it like this, would I want Poland or China to come and set up a military base in America? Hell no. So why does the US federal government think they can set up their bases all over the world? Its because your leader is probably making money from war games.

Here in America, defense contractors make huge amounts off money. War pays well, its disgusting.

If you want to create jobs in Poland why don't you people identify what your fellow people need and create a business for it. If people need tractors for farming, build some tractors. If people need clothes, make clothes. If people want cell phones, open up a telecommunications store. Do not depend on government to create jobs. A government that is big enough to give you everything is also big enough to take it all away.

I do NOT support America going into Poland and setting up a base, just so you know. Unless thats what you want but if you are paying attention to world affairs, America can't even handle their own business successfully, they don't need to poke their nose into another countrys business. Trust me, they will not bring the jobs that you want.

I suggest that the US keep out of Poland in a military sense. They are not needed nor wanted here by many Poles. They can spread their PNAC hegemoniacal BS elsewhere!

says Sean US, a guy who "obviously" hates us so much that he even used US (United States) in his nick, heh. Despite the fact that I'm against US bases in any other country because I'd rather see this money being spend for us here instead to support others, US bases in Poland will have an positive impact on the local economies of the entire regions wherever they'll be located. Ask you western neighbors, especially in the areas like Kaiserslautern in Germany where they basically live of the US Forces there.

Yes but it's not your business to muscle in as and when you see fit and that's my point. Have some respect for the wishes of the local people before you go barging in.

well, it's not about a support...

Ask you western neighbors, especially in the areas like Kaiserslautern in Germany where they basically live of the US Forces there.

after the WWII the US "took over" Germany... the US have a military base in almost every big German city... i wouldn't call Germany a true German country anymore, sorry...

Kaiserslautern in Germany where they basically live of the US Forces there.

wow they should be so thankful (big sarcasm).

USA is the biggest threat to world security. They were late to WW1 and WW2 and now they are making up for it by trying to start WW3.

USA get **** off.

Sean US

I thought it was always seanus as in just a weird ending.

Guesswho, you must see what we are saying to you here. We don't want your 'support'. The US wants to spread its influence but they can go and take a running jump with that. You surely understand Poland's history which is even more reason not to impose your bases willy-nilly without any kind of referendum. This isn't battleships here.

I bet, there are just as many Poles who like the idea as the ones who don't. Besides, why do you speak for them? I thought you're Scottish, right?

I know one thing for sure, this forum doesn't represent anyone at all. The Poles I was meeting while in Poland seemed to be different than the ones I'm meeting on PF. Being in Poland, I almost never had the feeling of not being liked or even hated (very rarely).

the US have a military base in almost every big German city.

where do you have this information from pgtx? Not even close at all.

i wouldn't call Germany a true German country anymore, sorry...

no need to apologize, I see you don't know much about Germany....sorry :-)

USA get **** off.

Do you always cuss short before you get off? I see the US has a very stimulating impact on you. Good for you, go for another round then.

I thought it was always seanus as in just a weird ending.

you "thought" wrong, he even admitted it earlier on PF

We don't want your 'support'.

Are you Polish? Why do you say "we"?

You surely understand Poland's history which is even more reason not to impose your bases willy-nilly without any kind of referendum.

what makes you believe that majority of Poles don't want US bases in Poland? Any concrete link (please)

You wanna bet? I'd love to oblige you and would happily do so were that option to exist. I can ascertain the sentiment here on many issues and I think many want to build strongly from within as a collective Polish effort. I'm Scottish, yes, but have lived here for almost 7 years.

Well Mr USA, what makes you think Poles american imperialism? I think most poles are against it, a large portion do not care and some for fuckk knows why are for it.

Besides, why do you speak for them?

he has more to do w/ Poland than you :)

prove it's not :)

prove what pgtx? About the US bases locations in almost all German major cities? Jeez girl, it's really something wrong with you if you need a prove for it. This is freaking obvious to just about anyone out there.

he has more to do w/ Poland than you :)

why? Because he lives there? I did too, 4 years is enough to discuss with you guys here about Poland but no matter how long he (anyone) lives there, it doesn't make him a Pole.

US Air Force and Army Military Installations in Germany

I'm glad you posted it. It would be great if you took your time to actually go through it. You wouldn't make your statement about US bases in most of the major German cities.

Going on a break !

I said we because I regard myself as a valid citizen here, regardless of status. Poles and Scots have done a lot for each other over the years and I feel a sense of brotherhood from many good folks I meet.

I know that many Poles see the trickery of NATO and that other interests are being served. Many Poles are not stupid, they can smell a rat from afar. They really don't feel that Russia will attack them anytime soon so why the need for an airbase?
OP Piast Poland 3 | 182

Well guesswho, you still have not said what makes you think Poles welcome usa rats. Seems like you are just talking non sense.

Yes but it's not your business to muscle in as and when you see fit and that's my point. Have some respect for the wishes of the local people before you go barging in.

No one is barging in. Here's the problem...No F16's, and NATO isn't living up to it's obligations in protecting "us" from the Russians....F16's, and the US is trying to build an empire... It's lose-lose... I suppose that's why the whiners are tuned out.

You watch the news, look at what happened with the missile base. It went from "you're trying to colonize us !@!@!" to "you're abandoning us!!@!@".
Seanus 15 | 19,706
11 May 2011 #114
Yes, it is barging in, convex. That's because Obama is pally with Putin and Medvedev and you seem not to see the game here, my friend. Dęblin is ably equipped to stave off any 'threats'. Then keep your empire to your already vast allocation of land. America isn't small, you know? ;) ;)
convex 20 | 3,978
11 May 2011 #115
No, it's not barging in. When one government requests it....how is that barging in? Why don't the people in Poland vote leaders into power that don't request a US presence in Poland?

Those F16's could be based at an effective FOB, not Poland.
Seanus 15 | 19,706

Please refer me to the last referendum on the issue, convex. How else can you accurately ascertain will? Please move away from intergovernmental blurb and look to the will of the Polish people, those that have to live with the consequences of their government's folly. There are a host of factors that dictate the lodging of a vote but specific issues require specific democratic tools to be employed such as a referendum. The air base is not the sole criteria of voters' preference.

Sorry, it is barging in because the presence is unwarranted and unwelcome.

Poland is a representative democracy, not a direct democracy. No referendum needed seanus.

Sorry, it is barging in because the presence is unwarranted and unwelcome.

By you, but not by the democratically elected leaders of Poland.

I believe it is, convex. It's a firm conviction of mine, esp in the modern climate of ignorance. Are you for scrapping referendums?

Based on what authority, convex? They just assume carte-blanche powers because they were voted in? Maybe we should apply that logic to Hitler??? He was voted in, right? ;)
OP Piast Poland 3 | 182

It is absolutely barging in, with the government allowing it, even begging it to happen. That does not mean that it should.

Piast Poland summed it up in a nutshell there. Governments often forget about repercussions for citizens and that's a huge mistake worthy of the utmost comtempt!
