Polish Nationalists Mocked at Comic Festival - Their Complaint Was Upheld by Warsaw City Council

Recently in Warsaw,

...distributed...was a free comic "Poland, the champion of Poland," by Tomasz Lesniak and Rafal Skarzycki, who cooperated with the anti-government Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper. They created drawings ridiculing nationalism, racism and anti-Semitism...nationalist organizations complained to city officials...it is insulting to the groups.

City officials investigated and ruled that:

"After reviewing the comic we explicitly declare that we do not accept its content,"...The council also said it would suspend the city's subsidy for the Festival for the next three years, withholding about $44,500.

What a good news story. It's very reassuring to see that Warsaw city officials can not only be truly honest brokers when concerns are raised by any Polish citizen but back it up with punitive actions to send an unequivocal message to others that misrepresentations, baiting, and intolerance of those they disagree with will not be tolerated.

Full stop!

Well done Warsaw City Council!

Of course, Biegers would have us believe that Polish Nationalists are well known to never misrepresent anybody, to never ever bait anybody and always tolerate everybody, even those they disagree with. And in the world according to Biegers they are also famous opposing misleading stereotypes about religious/ethnic/national groups.

Personally when I heard this news I got in touch with KW to find out how I could donate some money to help compensate for this loss. They're actually very happy! The news has brought so much attention and such strong reactions to the brazen hypocrisy of the neo-Nazis that KW have seen the money come rolling in, far more than the city were giving them and enough extra for a series of specials about dips!t neo-Nazis and their adventures in modern Poland.
