Your mother thinks your wife is a slut, she does not trust her, she had in mind a nice virgin girl for her amazing son this didnt happen and she distrusts and thinks shes taken advantage of you.

Bingo WB !

Not that she is American phew!

Hell, I'm American, and I'd be unhappy too if my son married a useless American / W. European woman.

Sounds like your mother really cares about you.

American my a**,

My family can't stand my wife because she's American and I married outside of race if you can call it that (both her parents wore from Poland but they died when she was young)

She's as Polish as one can be, period. There are other reasons for this said situation but one thing's for sure, it's certainly not race nor ethnicity.

Edit: Chciałeś powiedzieć że twoja żona jest ceprem (mit górala-nadczłowieka) to wszystko.

Górale tend to look down on other Poles. For that matter between themselves they also do that.
My wife is from a Górale family going back 400 years, from Rabka. And the High-Góral part of the family always tend to think they (the Rabka-born ones) are a much-watered down version on the Góral tribe.

I saw a picture of her on another thread.
What lukey-boy has there is some B-grade, white-trash, skank-ho. Good luck in all future endeavors with that millstone around your neck.

Lukasz, it sound really, really strange. I don't think it has that much to do with being a goral, rather your parents are the weird ones. Just give it a time, they'll get over it.

I am from similar background (Beskidy) and while my wife is Polish, before we started to go out togather, she was never near the mountains. And I have never got any bad comment from my people. It was rather her father, who hated me. As I think of it, maybe it was because I was always considered a "black sheep"... No one was expecting anything good from me.

As I said, give it a time. And be firm (I mean "stanowczy"). Let your parents know that it is offensive to you.

Ok, many things have been said and most of them are spot on.

My 2 cents:

1) Your mother simply detests the idea that her son, the pride and joy of her life, has married a woman with three children. That is the crux of the matter here, race and culture are lesser issues here. Your mom thinks You are waaay to good for Your wife, whom she considers some kind of "leftovers" and is/was actively looking to break You up ( paternity testing ).

It is very likely Your mother's stance on the matter will not change. Ever. An old goat is usually a very stubborn goat.

2) With that said, You should have never, ever, for the love of Abraham, accepted a friggin' HOUSE from Your mother. Her reasoning was simple - she's payed for the house, she can make demands.

Return the house if You haven't done so yet. Never, under any circumstances, take any other precious gifts from that woman. Her gifts are a way of looking for leverage.

3) Ultimately it all boils down to whether or not You are able to stand up to Your mom. By all means I encourage You to do so. Earn Your own living. Marry the girl You want. Be Your own man.

Gorals are also very deeply religious, the fact that her son would not have a big family wedding at church, with a three day celebration, is a complete insult to her as a mother and the family name ( in her traditional goral mind)

^ My personal experiences with the "gorals" are few, but I guess You're making a fair point.

"^" isn't needed in the posts.

True. I personally don't.

However, I don't have my picture on sites such as that!

Do you Wrocław?

parents are the weird ones.

... my parents defiantly got that down ... and the goral is more of their standing and morals they lived in strict upbringing and they don't understand the change in time and countries ...

"black sheep".

yea ... its funny thats what my family consider me ... personaly I think their crazy sometime but tell me a family that doesn't have problems ...

pride and joy of her life,

right .... it would be nice if that was true ... when she kicked me out of the house at 16 years old because I was hanging out with my friend and filming movie for hours on end .. she had a problem with my friend ... here is the fun part because he was north part of Poland ... either my mom is jacked out of her mind or this north south rivalry in poland is bunch of bull **** ... sorry ... but she was so bad she drove my friend away to ...

stance on the matter will not change

.. yea well its lost case with my mom ... you can take a polak out of poland but you can't take poland out off a polak ...

Gorals are also very deeply religious

yea I think the roots are still in poland way deep in poland ... that is one type of a person that I know that will do anything for their kind "people"

( in her traditional goral mind)

...

£ukasz is there any reason that you are not telling us about why your mother wouldn't like your wife?

Incidentally what is her name?
OP LukaszJagiello 2 | 26
5 Jan 2011 #53
what is her name?

who my mom or my wife .... and I said why my family doesn't like my wife well mostly my mom ... is because she is an american I'm taking a stab at this but maybe as it was said before she is trying to protect me as a son ... as the fact is my wife doesn't speak polish and my mom has a very limited english but before all the thing that happened she met my wife but every time she saw her she didn't say anything but look at her and walked away ... All it is that I want to know if someone ever want through something like that ... I heard of parents not like their kids wife/husband but D#$% I never saw this coming from my owen mother ...

who my mom or my wife

Your wife.

I read your original reasons but I'm wondering if there is anything in her past or anything you can think of your mother wouldn't like being that she is no doubt a strongly moral valued catholic woman.
OP LukaszJagiello 2 | 26
5 Jan 2011 #55
original reasons

as a moral reason well ... the only thing I can think of is that she had three kids when I met her but we got married and have a child together you think some people would get over it ...

moral valued catholic

the force is strong in this one ... and as for the name of my wife I don't think she got mad at her name ...

I never saw this coming from my own mother ...

examine your past. your mum is taking revenge for something. add to that that she has pre-judged your wife.

but... why then did she give u a house ?

you all need to meet and thrash it out. there is no other way.
OP LukaszJagiello 2 | 26
5 Jan 2011 #57
you all need to meet and thrash it out

yea think in a few years after everything comes down I haven't spoken to her in four years ... thinking I'll give it some time before we engage that conversation ...

5 Jan 2011 #58
I think not speaking to her for 4 years was punishment enough.
I think she loves you very much and imagined you living close by, imagined watching her grandchildren grow, showing her new daughter-in-law how to cook your favorite meals and all that sh!t. But, something convinced her that this was not to be and she fought hard, in her mind, for you. And for you helping her in her old age, too. Nothing is perfect. Try to make best of it, whatever you think it may work now.
OP LukaszJagiello 2 | 26

yea punishment yes but for both of us I'm guessing ... here's to family and long life of happiness ... Cheers ...
