Oh, come on, reality check please!

From a girl's point of view, it is much riskier to meet some relative stranger from the internet. You are not going to visit her in another continent, we are in the EU for Christ's sake and you are a guy.

If you are having doubts, just ask yourself this: if I decide not to go and meet her, will I regret it?

I met my husband online, I went to the US (I have family there), we met. We've been married 7 years now.

Oh yeah, at the time we met I was barely 19 and till date I weigh 115 pounds / 52 kgs (that's to some of you talking about immaturity and internet swarming with whales).

I have chatted to lots of lovely ladies on the net....only met up with one of them , a Latvian lady who moved into my house....For two weeks it was perfect , then her insane jealousy surfaced , and made each day a nightmare.....I hung in there for two months , but eventually had to put her on a bus back to Latvia to save my sanity , what there is left of it....

Despite this , i belive there can be the right one out there , just a matter of luck to find the right one...!

I met a polish girl on the internet too but it did not work out. She always went shopping when I arrived and always went straight to items she had seen before. When I stopped buying things she got a job. She would see me for 2 hours a day then work in the evenings.

I met a different girl who was working as a bar maid last september. I spend every weekend I can now in Lodz in her house, I am happy.

I put the first girl I met down to experience and moved on. I don't regret meeting the girl from the internet, take control of your life, don't just react to what life throws at you.

Go for it.

Liquidlove - of course this could work out - why not? I have a very good friend who met her husband on match.com, they've been married four years now and are very happy, 2 identical twin little girls make them even happier.

You are the only one who knows if you can trust her, just go with your instinct and give it a try. If things work out I'd love to know what website you used to meet a polish lady? One day when I'm ready to start dating again I might try the online dating myself... Apparently that's the way to go nowadays...

Oh yeah, at the time we met I was barely 19 and till date I weigh 115 pounds / 52 kgs (that's to some of you talking about immaturity and internet swarming with whales).

You have some good advice. Was your husband a Polish man living in America? What made you try the online dating and most of all, international type of dating? If there's anything you'd do differently what would it be? Are Polish women OK with moving far away from their families? I live in Hawaii so we're talking 12 hours away... What kind of advice would you give to a guy from a woman's perspective not to get hurt... Sorry about the many questions but I thought about a Polish or a Swedish (I was raised in Sweden - hey, Elin Woods is now single lol) online dating website but don't know much about it. I'm not quite ready yet but one day hope to be and would like to know all the how-to's... Thanks.

I met a lady on the internet , not Polish , but one of those tricky Russians....drove all the way to Kiev to met her...had nine wonderfull days in a nice hotel , in a great city , with the most lovely woman i have ever met.....

Normally i would be very doubtfull about internet romances , but they have as much chance of turning out good as any other way of meeting.....

In my case it was everything i hoped for and more..... its not going to be easy to organise a life together , she lives in Moscow , i live in Poland , but one way or another we are going to be together....

You met a Polish girl on the net, poor you! I was discussing this with my student just this morning. People aren't themselves oftentimes on fora. Brace yourself for disappointment.

Spot on. I've been married to one for 28 years, 28 years of happiness, caring, sharing and all good things. But I know she is just biding her time before something dreadful happens to me. I know there will be cynanide in my Horlicks one day soon. Beware all Eastern European girls. Decor_ating is a wise man - not!

It's a bit of a lottery, though. Something like the Magical Mystery Tour. Life is like a box of chocolates indeed :)

, a Latvian lady who moved into my house....For two weeks it was perfect , then her insane jealousy surfaced , and made each day a nightmare.

Beware; todays women 'feel' they have no responsibilities and are "entitled" to whatever suits them at-the-time which is always subject to change. Of great concern is the plethora of false accusations of abuse and/or rape. U.S. courts are now inundated with so many false charges that even the female attorney general of New York said, "half of all rape charges are false" and that's being generous. Here is a typical one (of thousands).

telegraph.co.uk/technology/facebook/7685381/Facebook-hacker-jailed-after-falsely-accusing-boyfriend-of-rape.html

Even though women in western societies have more 'rights' than men, it seems that too many abuse them.
