In Holland, we would call 1 to 15.000 people a village, 15.000 to 25.000 people a town, and 25.000 to over 100.000 people a city.

What you call places is one thing, what they are is another.

The Hague with its 480,000 inhabitants is actually not a city at all? It has never been granted a city status, has it? As far as I heard The Hague is a village after all. There is only one city in Holland - Amsterdam, no?

Can you guess where most prostitutes came from? I guess you don't want to.

Where do most of them go to might be even more interesting :)

I do hope they don't make a mess of your home, kot. How much of a discount do you get as a frequent customer? :D

Oh really? Well I'd call places like Warszawa, £ódź, Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań, Gdańsk, Szczecin, Bydgoszcz, Lublin, Katowice, Białystok, Gdynia, Częstochowa, Radom, Sosnowiec, Toruń and Kielce cities, and I'm pretty sure most of the Polish people would call these places cities aswell?

:)

Every Dutch person calls The Hague a city. If some people decided they would strip New York of its city status tomorrow, will that make it a village then? Oh, and do you actually think people will call it a village just because of that? I call a monkey a monkey, regardless of what status it has been granted..

;)

It doesn't matter what people call it. The Hague is still a village. Unlike NYC it has never been a city so the comparison is pretty empty

What makes a municipality a city in the Netherlands?

van wikipedia:

"Het wettelijke verschil tussen stad en platteland is na de grondwet van 1848 en de Gemeentewet van 1851 definitief komen te vervallen."

Darius, please don't act like these EU officials who make regulations about the curves of cucumbers and bends of bananas. A banana is a banana regardless of its bends.

It's ridiculous to call the Hague a village, regardles of its official administrative status.
You should go and see for yourself - you'd be surprised.
I suggest that you start from Scheveningen - the sea-side with its countless bars, pubs and restaurants will put you in a very good mood before you will be off to the city center with just as many tourist attractions, and last but not least to the International Court of Justice.

Well, the poor ones often have more muscles to work with, a stronger character, have a deeper sense of what morality really means, are far more loyal to their partner in most cases, are probably also more grateful for everything they recieve in life and appreciate the little things, and they probably pass on the stronger genes aswell.. (Because they're usually coming from a long line of work horses!)

Low? Only the clubbing type tend to be slappers. I don't think it's that easy to pull in general here.

Actually it's less easy to pull in the clubs than in the daytime (cafes, shops etc). They can become very deluded in clubs because of over-attention from needy desperate guys and due to low standards almost anyone can be competition. Depends on club though. 9-10 years ago it was a completely different story.
