I love a Polish girl, but I don't want her to drink

Even then, I know many Muslims from living in the Middle East and Indonesia who drink. They justified it (not that they had to, it's their choice) by saying that the Koran forbids the imbibing of substances that that will change your mind and actions (I am paraphrasing here), therefore if they only had a beer or wine with dinner then it wasn't affecting them in that way and so it was ok.

Nobody should enforce their religious beliefs on others. Just take a look at the mess religion is causing in the world!
If everybody gave up their own religions then the world would be a happier place.

If a person wants to drink, smoke and do drugs then surely the only person they have to answer to is themselves. No one has the right to tell anyone else how they should live and whether to smoke drink or do drugs. Once you accept that everyone has a choice then let them do what they want. It is not up to anyone to tell me or others what they should and should not do. You cannot make a person do what you want because it suits you.

True, but no one has an obligation to stay with them, either. Alcohol destroys everything.

Nothing works except an ultimatum. Better yet walk now and tell her that when she has been sober for a year to call you. That is if you love her. If you don't, you will stay and be an enabler.

If you stick around and have kids you will be stuck with a drunk who can't even be a half-decent mother. Later, your kids will hate you because she will make their lives hell. They will ask you why you didn't divorce her and you will feel like crap because you will not be able to answer this question without that "becaused I loved her" bs.

Begging, pleading, logic, facts are all useless. You might just as well talk to a wall.
